Jaeseok Yu? It seems some Americans handle KBS' World youtube channel coz any regular viewer of Korean show would know it's not the Korean naming order, surnames come first then the given name.

it might be probaly caz its in english,usually whenever we write in english our surname will be last,i guess dats the reason,or maybe it can be caz of wat reason u said like.

@@winter_nija3383 Are you Korean? From what I've seen even in English Koreans & Chinese always keep their naming order as it is. Even here on youtube we can see that, just on this KBS World youtube channel itself I've been reading Korean names including Yu Jaeseok's name in video titles in the usual naming order i.e. surname first, that's why I'm surprised to read it like this in this video title.

@@nikhileshsurve7295 dats probably how the brodcast and utube algorithm has done,but yeah actually in foreign states our real name comes first followed by family name,i have some korean friends,and their name is spelled first then their famil name,and they do all have a separate english name.u can search dude,if u wanna know more,or if u have any confusion,ur free to comment here.and well iam not korean dats the answer for ur question,and yeah i have also seen yu jaeseok dats when the name u translate it into english,translation is different.i guess u might be not from an western country,where r u from?

@@winter_nija3383 Oh I assumed you're Korean since you said "whenever we write in English our surnames will be last", so I assumed "we" means you're Korean lol. By Korean friends do you mean your friends are of Korean origin or they're from Korean but moved to West or they still live in Korea? As far as I know Koreans (& Chinese & probably some other communities too) write their names in original naming order even in English, good examples would be like their celebrities or even politicians, their surnames are first, may be civilians visiting west tend to change it for the ease of understanding of westerners. You can search "Yu Jaeseok KBS" & you'll find KBS World's videos itself showing Yu Jaeseok written in the traditional order in English in the title. Translation is about words' meaning from one language into another & need not change the naming style of an individual. I'm from India, here too we've some communities who have a different name order like in Ladakh who have basically the same name order as East Asians i.e surname first & then given name. In Tamil Nadu the Tamil community have even more unique naming order, often their father's name is first & then their given name but no surname. The rest of the communities in India has the same name order as the west but some don't & they keep it as it is even when writing their names in English just like Koreans & Chinese do. Which country are you from? I'm assuming you aren't from a western country either. Are you?
