Interviewer: "You chose your roles carefully. Why do Skeletor? Masters of the Universe?" Frank Langella: "Oh why not? That's one of my favorite parts! Oh I loved that part! My son was four years old and he was He-man running around with his sword and when they offered me Skeletor I couldn't resist! I couldn't wait to play him!" God bless Frank Langella. Even to this date, his Skeletor speech is one of the very few times we got a epic classic comic book style villain monologue. You could easily see someone like Dr. Doom or Darkseid making this same kind of speech back in the day! It was done so perfectly. No wise cracks from the hero, no stupid henchmen interrupting, no jokes, nothing. Just the villain being scary and making the hero (and the audience) wonder if they can pull a victory out of this one! Beautiful!

Nailed it 👍 exactly captured why I loved the performance! He was a threat. He was taken seriously. At no point in time did I think Gwildor would trip him up into mud for example.

Wow! I really teared up because of your heart felt message at the end of the video, Dan. Real fans of MoTU and all its related properties ( including even those that are carbon copies of the property, which essentially are just bootlegs) know and understand deeply and passionately about the journey we've had with this toy line. Because this journey, whether you realise it or not, began back in 1982, and we, the fans, from around the globe, have been on it together since then. It's just that at the time, we didn't have the means of interacting globally except with just neighbourhood kids who happened to share the same passion and hobby. And now, it seems that, by some miracle ( a lot of people simply call this technological advancement but I call it a miracle because it's something we, the 80s kids, would have never thought in a million years, that this thing called the internet would come into existence) we now all are connected via this social media platform such as youtube, twitter Instagram and Facebook where we see, talk and interact with one another in a goodwill fashion and share the things we're most passionate about, which is MoTU. Hope this not the end of this great and amazing line, as well as this journey we've had all these years. So, with that, I say, good journey to you, Dan and all the fans of this pop culture.

I would love to see Super7 close out MotUC with one more wave to fill the gaps in the 1987 movie. Teela, Man-At-Arms, The Sourceress, Beast Man, Evil-Lynn, an army builder pack of Skeletor's Troops, and Pig Boy/the MotU Movie contest winner. Perhaps we'll get news from NY Toy Fair this coming February or perhaps not. It's been one hell of a 12-year run for MotUC. Whether its the end of this line or not, it's not the end of MotU or Pixel Dan. Just the closing of a chapter. Whatever happens, it's not saying good-bye. Rather, it's us saying good journey.

YES X 1000% It would be amazing to have Super7 continue with the classics movie line, since, Mattel can't do it. At the very least, Mattel should let them do the movie characters for the Origins line! And god yes, PIGBOY needs to be in there! A pack in with evil lynn, as he said in an interview, that Meg Foster was especially nice to him on set.

MOTUC was really a fun ride over the whole last decade. I'd wish Super 7 could go the extra mile and give us movie versions of Man-at-Arms, Teela, Evil Lynn and Beast Man. Maybe even Skeletor's troopers and "enslaved" He-Man variant. Thanks for reviewing every single piece from MOTUC line since the start, Dan. Much appreciated!

I know the ReAction figures aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love 'em; they got me back into MOTU after decades away. After they did the MAN-AT-ARMS movie colourway, I was hoping we'd get some more ReAction figures in '87 movie colours. Both HE-MAN and SKELETOR in vinyl capes would be easy! And they've already made a white SORCERESS. Ah well, maybe they'll make some more one day....

Ghost Stinkor and Moss Man probably had a stronger smell, but those were intentional. I hadn’t even pulled God Skeletor out of the plastic tray and I was practically getting high off the fumes. I agree that it’s something in the gold paint because his wave-mates don’t smell anywhere nearly as strong.

SIX remaining Filmation figures, Pixel Daniel San. Adam and Weaver aren't pictured. I guess I would have loved the movie too if I had seen it at 4 or 5 and not 13, as I did. Been a MOTU fan since the line began. The movie greatly disappointed me because it strayed from the mini comics AND the cartoon. I recognized it in character names only. BUT, that was then and this is now and in between that span of time I have rewatched it as an adult and definitely appreciate it more. Very glad to have these figures. And yes, Frank Langella's performance saved the film...That, and Gwildor eating ribs and chicken.

Samuel Murdoch here and It’s been such a wild and fun ride these past 12 years, I’ve been watching since classics started, I love all that you’ve done, all the videos on any toy line, but MOTU is also my #1. I’m pretty much a moc collector so these videos helped me experience the toys outta package and up front. Also all of your coverage on power con, SDDC, Matty Panels, toy fairs, other cons, etc made me feel I was there at the shows too, and those Matty Panels and walk throughs were so exciting with all the new reveals and announcements. Plus all the podcasting you’ve done such as Roast Gooble, It Figured, and Geek Easy were great too for those cons and new toy talk, so thanks again!

I've been following your reviews of these figures for a long time. When the line began I couldn't afford the figures or the subscription to MattyCollector. I was in my mid 20s and just didn't have the disposable income for them. It's only in the past few years that I've been able to go back and get the figures that mean a lot to me. I appreciate your reviews for being there when I couldn't enjoy the line myself. From one Dan to another: cheers!

@Pixel Dan, several years ago I saw one of your videos for the MOTU Classics and not only did it get me back into collecting but it even made me choose my username which as you may have noticed is the title of an episode of the classic cartoon. I’ve not bought all the figures and don’t always make it to conventions but it is through the internet vloggers, most primarily yourself, that I get to vicariously experience fandom. So thank you for over a decade of entertaining videos and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future will bring. :)

I'm extremely glad I watched the Dark Despot video and this one, You pointed out a lot of details I never noticed in any of the photos I've ever seen (Skulls and sculpted images all over the robes and tassels) I had been thinking about both and kept delaying due to high prices, Right now I only have the Classics Intergalactic Skeletor, I'm getting The Faceless One this week, But after the Dark Despot video I've decided to go and spend a lot of money on that Classics figure, and quite possibly this one too, (The two tones of gold plus the Amazing and Perfect replication of the head sculpts are Fantastic on both movie versions! !! ) I have A Lot of Vintage figures, vehicles and displays from the 1980s, and some New Adventures of HeMan, Some Origins, and Masterverse, but the Classics seem to have had some of the very best versions of the MOTU characters, Again, very glad you made the videos (I often check multiple figure reviews before buying) But I an now 100% sold on these two, but gotta save up a little, Dark Despot and God Skeletor will cost me near 300 each !!! But Skeletor (and Darth Vader) are my two all time favorite villains of fiction, It's sad Classics ended and are soo expensive online, But the Masterverse figures are doing a pretty good job at making realistic 7 inch figures, Thanks for the various videos I've watched of yours, This may be the first time I've commented ? Have a good day !!!

Great video, Dan! But even though it seems this may be the last time you do a Classics video, I suspect you’ll get another crack at it in the future. They need to round out the Stout collection. 😊

I think you should do a video about the ups and downs of the MOTU Classics. Do you have EVERY Classics and Filmation figure?

As a kid seeing the ads for the movie, I always thought this was supposed to be Hordak. This was before I actually saw the movie afterward.

Great Review as always, Dan. As for the future of He-Man... I'm hoping Noah Centineo is 'Prince Adam', and we get some Shazam-like dual actor role for He-Man himself. Oh well, maybe through Mattel's Origins, I'll finally get the new Disks of Doom Skeletor I've been waiting so long for. His most visually interesting animated design, at least.

I don’t know if Mega Construx MOTU line is still a thing or if the company still exists (can’t find any of their toys, any where) but I would love if they did these movie toys as well!

The '87 movie gets a bum rap. Was it perfect, no. But it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be either. The casting was fantastic, for the most part, and Frank Langella as Skeletor was an inspired choice! His lines, oh my gosh, his lines! "Tell me about the loneliness of good, He-Man. Does it compare to the loneliness of evil?" The relationship between Skeletor and Evil-Lyn, the addition of Blade to the Evil Warriors -- "I've waited a long time for this!" -- Man-at-Arms as the grizzled veteran. Honestly my only regret of the movie was that it fell into the 80s trope of bringing this other-worldly story to Earth. And I know it was cost, it was cheaper to build a few sets for Grayskull and Eternia and then bring the only thing to Earth where they could use locations. But still...I would have loved if they kept the whole movie on Eternia.
