When Wilson explains the passage in Proverbs about a Father who doesn’t discipline is actively hating his child, that’s really right. If you love your child, you will overcome your feelings of protecting them in order to do the hard thing, and discipline them. This is really what’s good for them in the long run.

Getting to listen for a few mins while the kids are eating breakfast with my husband and their grandparents. I'm getting our 6th kiddo down for his nap! Merry Christmas Andrew! Thank you for always encouraging me as a stay at home mom! I mean it! Can't say how much your appreciation for us mommas has helped me over the years!

By far the best parenting book I’ve ever read is called “Child Training tips” by Reb Bradley. It’s certainly not the new age style child rearing book however. I’m sure a lot of woksters would be triggered by it!

Its hard to not see this relationship with Klavan and the rising main stream conservative media as a significant factor in how Moscow (while I like Joel and think he has been wronged I have concerns and lean towards Moscow and Apologias trajectory) has handled the Webbon Antioch situation (and yes while I like Doug I am conflating the two as regardless of what he has said anyone who has followed the situation and heard the declaration knows they are one in the same)

If Klavan is going to continuing interviewing Wilson, he at least needs to have an honest discussion. DW's illiberalism is incompatible with Klavan's (classical) liberalism. That's a fact regardless of how one feels about either Klavan or Wilson. If you doubt me, go investigate each side's political beliefs. They are categorically opposite of each other, regardless if they share some of the same short term political goals.

If you want to accuse someone of dishonesty you should be specific. Unless you are a weasel.

Very said that. Of course they can be broadly politically aligned. These two still have very different approaches and goals, and I find it amazing that Klavan evidently doesn’t see that. Merry Christmas

Agreement on these matters is not necessary. And it is the Klavan's discernment and judgement on which that all rests anyway.

Have you read Wilson's book on Christian nationalism? I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound like you have.

I get indignant all the time and I know exactly why - what are you talking about? Because I know the difference between right and wrong! And I didn't get that from some imaginary bearded old man in the sky, and by the way heaven is not really above the clouds, is it - not even in your imagination, is it? I imagine is one of the best songs ever written and it's because he was referring to the fact that religions create wars. And you know that.
@BalthasarCarduelis11 сағат бұрын
lol, look at you picking fights, ostensibly over others causing wars.

Your sense of right and wrong is a real perception of something that actually exists, out there, in reality. The question is, where did the reality of right & wrong come from? Did people make it up? Then it's not something real you are perceiving. Then right and wrong would be 'imaginary,' and we see that you want truth, not imaginary things.
@7EiamJ77 сағат бұрын
You got your sense of right and wrong from the people you grew up around and listened to, as did they and so on. Depending on what your sense of right and wrong is, if it aligns with Christian values, then yes, you learned right and wrong from religion. Whether you like it or not.
