-----------------------------------
In this clip, Godfrey weighed in on Kanye's controversial slavery comments. He went on to say that he believes it has something to do with his mother's passing and the Kardashians because every man associated with the family somehow ends up in precarious situations. Godfrey and Vlad discussed men using the Kardashians to boost their celebrity status but how the Kardashian clan has their own agenda in relation to the men they associate with.
Later on, Godfrey talked about Black people checking one another for saying stupid things like Kanye, and gave Van Lathan kudos for how he handled the Ye situation.

Fairplay Terrific At some point we all lose our mothers, or even worse our mothers bury us. (I'd rather bury my mother because that's how its susposed to be.) Most people love their mother's. My mother was my foundation but she passed. I understand the pain but at some point it becomes an excuse because he's a "genius". He actually is I love his music hate when he speaks as a Kardashian. Everyday at my work, I see kids locked away for years and they didnt have a mother, a father, or a family. No one cares. He's lucky he had her for the time he did.

I said the same thing. When his mom died and 808 and a heart break was released I was like Kanye will never be the same. Especially when the Kardashians scooped him up. I don't hate the Kardashians but that's one weird family.

Aquathago Hasty no. You choosing to remain ignorant and not study something you want to have an opinion on is a choice.
@aquathagohasty5502
@aquathagohasty5502 6 жыл бұрын
Yawdan but those who say slavery was not a choice don't know the true philosophy of choice. If someone were to hold you at gunpoint and say be my slave or die. You'd probably choose to be a slave either way you made a choice. It was a difficult choice but you made a choice. There's always a choice. Sure the slaves were threatened to be killed if they escaped but they made a choice to remain a slave rather than to risk their lives for freedom. Again it was a difficult choice but it's still a choice!!
@Yawdan
@Yawdan 6 жыл бұрын
Aquathago Hasty like there weren't revolts, rebellions, attempts at escape... as I said, you choosing to remain incessant on your uninformed opinion is a choice. Forgive me for earlier using the word ignorant, as I shouldn't be be using words that can be insulting. But if you are only trying to rationalize the discussion in a way that reinforces your biased perception, you aren't interested in whether slavery was an actual choice to begin with- you already made your own mind up and aren't interested in the facts.
@danielbailey9049
@danielbailey9049 5 жыл бұрын
@@aquathagohasty5502 but with that logic if I were to hold you at gun point and give you the two options you mentioned earlier, and you chose to die, it should be considered suicide, and not murder on my part. But that's not the case because the real power of choice is in whether I decided to hold you at gun point or not in the first place. I understand the semantics of what you're saying, but you have to also acknowledge the lack of empathetic nuance there is in the perspective it is rooted in.

I think Kris Jenner paid Travis Scott off to act right. I don't know what she said to him, but I think she's paying him to keep up appearances next to Kylie, because he was doing less-than-flattering things while she was pregnant, all of a sudden that came to a stop, and I don't think it was the baby that made him have a change of heart. I think it was whatever transpired in that conversation (or contract) between him and Kris Jenner.

If you are asking me how do I personally not see the holes in the prison analogy? Here's one reason why: It was against the law to run away as a slave, we were property, same as prisoners today are state property or federal property, so to say it was a choice that they didn't run away is a idiotic statement. ( mind you plenty did and were murdered for it, as well as ones who didn't as a deterrent) Same as saying why don't prisoners today just escape. Its fitting.

@cinnamonstar808
@cinnamonstar808 6 жыл бұрын
I dont see nothing Nigerian about Haitians IT DOES MAKE ANY SENSE political for that time? the African political side and which colonial power oversee Nigeria. HOW is a French colony have English colonial slaves. by the time Nigerians start arriving slavery in the Caribbean ended. The only place they can go is Brazil, USA and Spanish islands. Yoruba = no Igbo = are on the islands but they came with the British ( to read they hieroglyphics being written between each island) and mostly women because that was one of a very few African culture that writing society wasnt locked. Plus Nigerian were a popular group... PEOPLE SEE WHO CAME and WHO DIDNT. Northern Nigeria was a part of the old Ashanti Kingdom as Benin = and maybe count Benin as Nigerians (only logic) or the Cameron/Nigerian border which was control by the Portuguese then French. but again the years are off If Nigerians are in Haiti; they came by plane or ran away on a ship. Haiti is Akan + Congo/Cameroon ( same mixture in Hondurans and part of central America. . NO SHADE Haiti would not have independence it it was Nigerian = they are extremely coonish like Han Chinese people. When they want to sit at the table; they throw every thing away. dignity, pride, loyalty. Political the other islands like Jamaica or Suriname would not have help Haiti..because word got back that Nigeria was doing the most ( loose lips sink ships) throwing the surround tribes UNDER THE BUS to save their people from the English. and lol the English broke their promises and clown them...... like in 2018 If Nigerian are in Haiti they came on their own. I dont recalled anything that said French /Nigerian connection LEAVE a link if anybody knows how that happen. The religion in Haiti is not Nigerian (Yoruba) the IFA religion split 20,000 years ago and everybody did what the heck they want with the knowledge

cinnamonstar808 Christopher Columbus oldest son Diego cologne was bringing slave to the island since 1505. Haiti was colonized by the French the English and the Spaniard . The original native name is Ayiti the French pronounced it Haiti. The whole transatlantic slave trade was based on three countries Ghana /Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon so basically all of us are from these countries even black Americans. In matter of fact most of the slave that were in the U.S. at the time came from the Caribbean because the slavers of the U.S. couldn't control slaves who came straight from Africa. If you don't believe me research it and fact check your research or check your DNA .

Eddy CHERESTAL And the Muslims took ten times as many Black slaves, but cut their dicks off so they have no descendants living there. Why aren't black people more upset about Muslims? At least whitey didnt cut your goddam dicks off, wtf. There are STILL black people to this day enslaved by muslims in libya, algeria, oman, yemen, a lot of places.

9:30 WE need to create our own opportunities and stop waiting for others to create a pathway for us. Stop asking other men for jobs and create your own for your families and communities. Everyone else does it, so why not us? We're trying to play by a book that DOES NOT APPLY TO US! Black men, create opportunities for your sons and their sons and stop relaying on "others" to hire your children. It's common sense. Just do it.
