For context, Serosh was a restraint for Godfrey, to held back his barbaric rage, allowing him to act in a more regal manner, akin to a Lord, rather than being an animalistic warrior. Godfrey was his alias under this restraint, with Hourah Loux being his real name.

My favorite boss in the entire game. Number 1. Godfrey’s fight is just second to none. The buildup, the music, the lore behind his journey and why this fight was a very personal one for both him and the player.. I could go on and on

From my understanding, Godfrey's lion, Serosh, acts as a seal of sorts. To keep Godfrey's bloodlust need for combat in check, which is why he goes berserk after ripping Serosh from his body

There's plenty of room once you understand him. You can even attack him when he's swinging at you as some of his attack will miss when you're close enough to him. Not to mention just to jump at many of his attacks and bring some jump attacks in. It's one of the coolest fights imo as it gets your blood pumping. Staying cool is key just with any bosses really.

@@P4nem___Et___C1rcenses Oh I agree, I love this fight. I'm on NG+4 and I beat him with a caestus only build and it was super fun. Still, compared to a lot of bosses, he tends to be more aggressive. Which often leads to quick fights, either you die fast, or you kill him fast.

He really is, and once you take the time to learn him, he is actually very fair. Nothing he does is a cheap hit or hard to avoid, but if you screw up, he can totally slay you. And he severely punishes panic rolls, which Marz always does 🤣

I know it's pretty late in the playthrough but regarding the slow healing you mentioned: you can sip on the flask multiple times, you don't have to sip - wait for the animation to finish - sip again. You can press the drink button again right after you took the first one

@Marz - Changing equipment will not change your roll speed UNLESS it changes your equip load category; i.e. changing armor but still being in the "Med" equipment load (like 20:31) doesn't change how quickly you roll. You'd have to drop to "Light" to roll faster, but you don't roll slower until you're "Heavy". So wear whatever you want if you're happy with your equip load category 👍🏾

For instance, modifying one's armor while maintaining a medium equipment load, like at 20:31 in the video, does not alter the roll speed. I swear to god, I don't care if Myazaki says Elden Ring is not connected to Dark Souls, it feels so much like it is in lore just being real. But this fight is awesome! I actually found Godfrey to be pretty fair, his movements are fairly slow compared to some bosses, but he stays aggro. His move set is just a bit unorthodox for someone with a weapon. He has cancels, almost like in a fighting game, that he can do at any point, making his moveset pretty varied, but awesome. He's the 2nd to last boss fight of the game, he expects perfection out of your dodges. on the Gideon Ofnir fight, it's pretty cool actually, the more bosses you defeat the stronger and more powerful he gets. He learns the signature moves from a lot of the boss fights you defeat. But because you haven't defeated some of the optional ones, mainly Mohg and Melenia, he doesn't have their moves to use against you!

It’s best to Jump, not dodge in this fight during his stomps and AOE attacks. You can also hit him with jump attacks during his stops etc. makes it easier

Honestly, Ilysm Marz, but this was probably one of the best boss fights in the game imo. He's super aggressive, but you can evidently predict his next attack based on his body movements, moreso than other bosses in the game. I really think he's top tier amongst the massive array of bosses in this game, that actually feels like a hurdle, but not in an unfair manner. Another thing is how he suddenly changes paces from lighting fast without breaks -> to super slow and delayed attacks, it throws you off in such a badass way XD This fight was such an adrenaline burst for me, I was constantly edge of my seat - and lord ohh mighty, that mf music dials it up to 1 million. There's a lot going on here, and it's the best fight in this game, no doubt about it. If it wasn't for Malenia's waterfall dance, I'd rank her a little higher, but that move is has to be dodged in such a niche way, it doesn't feel like difficulty that the average player can overcome with rigorous practice alone, you have had to watch at least one video to get the dodging down. She's overrated man

If Rivers of Blood was upgraded sure. But for me the go to weapon to easily beat him was the Black Knife dagger. It can easily destroy a boss if you build up enough Dex/Faith. Plus with the skill, it reduces their max hp while draining them, hence easily destroying them.

@@MrWatchtower If you want a faith weapon, the Blasphemous Blade is yet an even better choice, it killed Godfrey the first elden lord with ease.

Marz hate the bosses because she struggle fighting them, everybody hate them and later says the fight was epic. I have an opinion: if someone complains about a boss saying he is shit or something like this, the person playing don't know how to fight him and blames the game difficulty. For me this is a fact, and I'm not sayinf this just for her, a lot of people cry on the fights but play like garbage (not her, she played well, but struggled with his moveset). Also, Marz is to dependent on the Moonveil magic, if she mixed melee and magic and jumped the attacks, she would probably kill him faster. Just my opinion, I'm waiting to see her fighting the remaining bosses and, obsviously, curse them a lot.
