In this Bina's point is more relevant, just like DS group used its distribution network to launch pulse candy, using its existing distribution network to launch new variety is more relevant
@resonance.4395 күн бұрын
why cant they do both
@knowledgebyte35924 күн бұрын
Yes. Bina seems more relevent but why she is sitting on big cash ? This must be used effectively to diversfy or should be distributed to shareholders
@itsakhil1962 күн бұрын
They could have used 24/7 to double down in their revenues and profit from other brands product and promote their malbore and it's brand owned cigerate extensively through it , so I can't understand why to close when the stores have hit profitable margins . This sound silly or am I missing something?

Thank you for creating such valuable and high-quality content on the citrate industries. I would like to request a part 2 that provides a global perspective and includes an analysis of major global players like British American Tobacco (BATS) and Philip Morris. Given your commitment to quality, I am confident you will create it.

So what is the core competencies of reliance , tata and birla?? As reliance has refineries + telecoms and fast fashion as well?? Also further more akasa airlines is edgy case as founder Mr jhunjhunwala was a trader??? Try to explain me!!!

the examples are conglomerates. meaning they are not trees (different trees) but a garden of trees unlike godfrey phillips

@NishatChoudhury so what it takes to become a conglomerate?? As Godfrey Philips do have capital + work force?
@NishatChoudhury2 күн бұрын
@@heetshahhh I don't think there is a single answer to that. But having access to large capital + the possibility of current business vertical serving as cash cow, seems to me the way (there could be other reasons as well). For example, Reliance as I remember started the apparel&retail business in early 2000s, which is diametrically opposite to what they were good at (or core capabilities) i.e., petroleum refining. The owners had access to capital but did not borrow/share any core capabilities from the petroleum industry. Instead they hired strategic people from the consumer industry to build the company now known as reliance retail. thanks for asking.

Shukriya 🙏🏽 You can start by reading some books on understanding basics of analysing financial statements. You will find a lot of free resources on Varsity by Zerodha and Investopedia. You can so one more exercise if you have the time and drive to learn - Pick up the annual report of a company, any company you really like, preferably one with a single line of business, and read it end to end. Jo bhi terms nai samajh aa rhe unko search karo, samjho. Once you do this for 3-4 companies, I think you will get the hang of understanding different businesses.

Pan masala could leverage the distribution rather than licensed ferro product coz again you end you with Marlboro case where home brands are tossed,plus if you are comparing with ITC they understood distribution to best benefit FMCG and so now they are seperating hotel business which again is weird for Tobacco company
