Did you notice if the acoustic and electric side are at unity volume when turned all the way up? I find that my acoustic side is waaaay quieter. Especially using the mix output by itself.

how does it sound when unplugged or does it have to be plugged in to sound like an acoustic or to get any volume out of it

Unplugged, mine sounds kind of “plastic” .. However I play mine that way most of time because I like to jam without turning all kinds of stuff on. I do plug it in and when I do, I appreciate it. I put 9’s on it when I got it. Tweaked truss rod and what a great playing guitar! I have been using a Yamaha THR 10 for lead and an old Crate for acoustic. Godin really thought this stuff out. Wonderful guitar with access to high frets for lead. I own about 30 guitars, I have built several, own some high dollar Carvin,, PRS and others. This one is hands down is the best value for the buck. It is a thin guitar and had good volume until I changed the strings but it still sounds very good unplugged.
