As a single mom of 2 sons. I raised them to fear the lord. The lord spoke to me when they were in there early teens to teach them God's word. I brought them to a youth bible studies weekly. They were nurtured by godly men who kept them accountable. They learned the fear of God. The bible sturdies was called Chosen Generation. God helped me raise these young men and they continue to follow him. My oldest son who is in his 40s is still waiting on the lord for the mate God has planned for him. He trust the lord will give him the desires of his heart. May your marriage and ministry be abundantly blessed and bear much fruit in the lives of others you minister to.

Thank you for heeding God's call. It literally saved their lives. Moms are truly a blessing but a mom who is a believer is a true testament of God's covering. I am ever so grateful now as an adult at 31 for my mom raising us in the Word & church. I sure did not depart from it. It's amazing my sister, mom & I now pray together as adults. It's such a special bond. ❤❤❤

Just saw the Forge the other day on Wednesday! Great movie man! My wife and I also decided to abstain for sex until we were married and didnt move in with one another until we were married. The best decision we ever made to obey God, it really set the foundation! God bless you both!

Oh boy, I just listened to an interview with Aspen and did I hear correctly that he was raised by a single mother? If I did, I would be beyond grateful and would be such a blessing to hear from him advice for single mothers of boys. I am one myself. In the beginning, I was raised by a single mother also until we met my dad (stepdad). Now as a mom what I see that I missed growing up is knowing God as my heavenly Father. Now I make it a point to remind my son (6 years old 💙) that God is his heavenly dad. We worship in the morning, we come into prayer and we read the Word and I speak to Him throughout the day how to discern depending on what the occasion calls for. But you, Aspen, coming from you, a man of God who was brought up in a single parent home, I would love advice on pillars that should be present in my parenting, ways to talk and ways not to talk to him. I am coming to a place where I am releasing trying to be the father-figure myself and coming into being the nurturer that I'm called to be as a mom and letting my son know that he may not see a physical man in this house but His heavenly Father leads this household so to not be confused for one moment that there is no leader in this home. And I let him know that I answer to God and He asks of me to place boundaries in certain places and to speak in love and I get to obey and lead him in the way I am lead. I don't get it right always but boy- having direction by someone who has walked this path as a son it would mean the world to me and I know other single moms out there. I love speaking with teens and adults, but childhood is an uncharted territory for me. Really guys, thank you for living out loud.

I just watched you on the Forge, WHAT a BEAUTIFUL surprise to know you guys are married in real life!!! I hope there is a part two of The Forge where the nuclear family is lifted. My question: You were getting ready to share "the tea" on what boundaries looked like to be able to fulfill no sex before marriage. If you could elaborate on that, I think that would be so helpful for couples to know what boundaries actually looks like - examples of moments where boundaries were exercised or parameters were placed to keep you both far from temptation OR moments when you might have been tempted and how you both helped one another overcome. The world tells us "how far can I get with my partner?" but a life in Christ leverages "what can I sacrifice for my partner to help him/her grow in Christ?" The world encourages lust and instant gratification, The Word encourages love through sacrifice discipline and devotion. Thank you for living out loud in Christ! I believe more times than not we don't have the physical community to help inform our paths but platforms like that sure become a hearty supplement to hold on to.
