I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed watching this. It was so tongue-in-cheek, such that only the British can do. Hanna the housekeeper was absolutely priceless, and several hilarious lines which were quoted with complete dead-pan faces. A unique film with a wonderful display of the deep human psyche.

Extraordinary film. Standing up very well over time. I like it better the second time viewing it, in fact. First time, shortly after its release, perhaps it was just too dark for me at the time. But now I see the light as well as the shadows. The god and the monsters. McKellen is so brilliant!

I always feels so amazed at what great actors are made by the British acting schools (arts academy?). Every movie of no matter the suibject are fantastic and never regret watching till the end. About this one I was of course drawn to it because Ian McKellen was in it but the whole cast was marvelous. A pleasure to watch. Beautiful.

Wow! This was one really, really good movie. The depth of in which the past is trying to catch up the present of a more meaningful time in our lives can be overwhelming to many of us. It's not a matter of will it happen to us. Its more of when will it happen to us. I love movies like this one. It is rare to find a gem like this one.

He is a good actor , I don’t kw what has happened to make him stay out of the limelight ! Of course the whole entire movie was great to hv available for us to watch !! I loved the old films they where so scary when u r little !! Didn’t need a lot of curses or obvious fake scenes to make it work !! Of course all the actors was very good at their parts & the story was good !!

No se trata exclucivamente de ese genero, es mas abarcativa, lo suyo es de un reduccionismo, vil, esta obra de arte, contempla al ser humano entero, los sentimientos de todos heteros , gays , todos. No hay orgullo en tener un sexo, solo el de ser una buena persona, sin importar el sexo. Por cierto son dos historias , la del jardinero y la del director de cine!! y su amistad!!

I have never really liked Brendan Fraser, as an actor, until this movie, he portrays a very different side to him and I like it. He's vulnerable and so sexy and I never thought of him that way. Fabulous acting (of course) from the wonderful Ian McKellen and Lynn Redgrave. I really enjoyed this Movie and I recommend to everyone who likes a walk on the wildside.
