Dear Godsmack My name is Joshua Anderson. I'm 23 years old and I wanted to say thank you guys for always making such awesome music. For along time I've been going through alot of crap in my life lately but no matter what when things seam to feel like they where getting hard I would listen to your music. I feel as those the darkness in my heart and soul lifts. The light open glimmering bright into my mind. I still remember when I was 11 years old when I was first introduced to your guys music by my step dad. He had gone to a concert and brought back one of your guys CD's. I can still remember the first song I listened to you by you guys to this day and still my favorite song by you guys to this day. The song I Stand Alone when hurd the first note of that song it felt like a shock wave shooting throw my body and opened me to somewhere i felt like no one could touch me as tho I was flying high in a sky of bliss. Now 12 years later I still listen to you guy and I still get that feeling form your music when I listen to it. When ever I'm down your music lifts me back up encouraging me to get back up and to keep fighting my battles called life. I don't know if you guy will ever read this letter but I just want to say thank you bc your music helped me and I don't think I could have ever made it this far without the help of your guys music. Oh my God that spelling.... But, no, seriously I feel you. I've been going through a lot throughout the years, from what I remember crap started getting bad around 6th grade and music has helped a bunch and is a great outlet for me. I have a drunk ass, stubborn and arrogant dad who doesn't seem to care about anyone else but himself and money and it really hurts that he isn't really a dad....a lot of my friends I can't see much anymore, especially one that I can only see during the summer and I miss the hell out of her. I also have depression and anxiety and really just hate myself. Sometimes I just wish I could commit suicide, but I know I can't, one because I don't want to hurt anyone who may care, especially my friends, and two I'd be too much of a pussy to do that. I just can't escape my own self and stop being how I am and that just hurts a bit. I don't know. But, like I said, I definitely feel you about the music. It can help a bunch with some really hard stuff.

I first heard this song on the radio in December 2015. I was coming home from work contemplating what to do with my life. A few days earlier, I learned that my cancer had progressed to stage IV metastatic cancer. The cancer had spread to my lungs, liver, and appeared to be on my spine as well. I'm not sure why, but when I heard this song, my attitude changed, and I was determined to beat my cancer! To some it may sound silly, but the song is forever etched in my brain!

I've been listening to Godsmack since their first album in 98 (I was born in 94) and have pretty much loved all their songs, but this one is my personal favorite because it really speaks to me. When I was growing up, my friends and I would hang out at Radioshack to listen to whatever new singles came out. When the full albums were released, we'd go to a record store and listen to the albums there. If we liked whatever album it was, either one or all of us would buy a copy. Sully's right, man. Future generations will never know what it's like to just chill at a record store while listening to and appreciating the music that became a part of your life, no matter what genre it is. For me, one the main reasons why I love Godsmack is that their music sounds really kickass while still having deep and meaningful lyrics.

I’ve been a fan since the summer of 98’. I was 15 going on 16 and these dudes instantly became one of my faves up there with Sabbath, Metallica, The Doors, and Floyd. I know those are legendary bands however I’ve always felt that the Big G-Smack was right on par with them in terms of musical talents.

Damn good memories. 8th grade i bought their first album. Played it until it was too scratched to play anymore. 90's were the best. But, i will say youtube is amazing. Hated paying $15 for a cd back then. Only thing we had. But hell yeah good times

I've been listening to godsmack jam since 1996 before they became BIG. i was 13 yrs old n they were my first concert i ever went to at 15. They made a demo with keep away, greed, and whatever... my home town station, T.A.O. put em on.. The album was meant to be called all wound up originally but later was changed to GODSMACK. Self titled album.. Being that sully is the name of the god music in celtic wicca n the fact that im irish n that sully erna is my hero, i named my sun sully.. It's his name on my google account. Simply because my son (n my 2 girls) is, and are, my world. All 3 of my children were conceived to n are growing up on godsmack's music.
