Praying for you Godwin! My husband kind of ignored the type 2 diabetes for several years but then they told him he was going have to go on insulin and he decided to get serious about taking care of himself. He found recipes for GOOD food, learned to enjoy the sweet treats in moderation. He also quit focusing on what he could not have and instead looked at all the good things he could have if he watched his portion control. He lost 35+ lbs, got off every diabetes medication but one pill a day and the doc is looking at him not even needing that one soon. Cautionary tale-Because he waited so long to take care of it, he is now dealing with kidney issues, but once that diagnosis came down we prayed for wisdom and healing help from the Almighty…God encouraged him and helped him learn how to take care of the new diet requirements and his kidney numbers have done what the doctor said she had never personally seen happen, they have IMPROVED! So, bottom line-rejoice in the Lord and trust Him to help you with “wise counsel” like you were talking about and beat this stuff so it doesn’t cause you more problems down the line 💜.

Praise the Lord! May God be with you and your husband. I was diagnosed as type 2 seven yrs ago. I've lost 50 lbs and had to give up certain things like sugary cereals and watching how much pasta and bread I eat. It is hard at times. If I mess up I just get back on the horse and get going.

One last thing. I really miss corn and popcorn. When I grill out we have corn on the cob. Instead of eating two or three cobs I get half of one.

Welcome to the diabetes club Godwin. My dad lost both legs and finally died of complications from diabetes. He died at 67. So take it very seriously. I have diabetes and learned to control it. I found the Keto diet helped me the most. I lost 30 lbs is 6 months following it. I cut out most carbs, no sugars. You got this brother 🙏🙏🙏. Sending prayers. My A1C went from 10.4 to 6.3 in those 6 months. It’s a big life style change. I hope your friends and family help you through this. That helps tremendously.

Good advice 👍. For all the crap on KZbin, there are informative videos to help people understand how blood sugar, insulin and fat storage works. I lost 50 pounds in the past six months with Keto and intermittent fasting and now looking forward to my next blood test.

One issue I have is ice cream. I tend to eat more than I should. I did lose 50 lbs over the last 7 yrs and try to cut the carbs out like you. God bless you in your efforts.

So she was tranquilized so they could assist her calf safely. Then momma needed CPR. Baby is with momma and they are both safe. Cool story.

50 years ago ,my coonhound treed two black panther cubs in a tree and my dad shined his light around In the woods and the mother was about fifty feet away , the cubs were black and the momma was black. Si is correct.

I live in eastern North Carolina and when I was a child about 25 years ago I saw black panther Cub hit on the side of the road in front of my house with the mom and one more cub lingering around grieving over the body so those that don't believe it just have not got the chance to see one I don't even argue about it with people anymore

Godwin, as a diabetic myself I have a word of advice for you. The best thing for you would be to see a certified diabetes educator. The educator helped me greatly. I'm officially back below diabetic levels. It will help you.

Idk about that. Don’t they push crap diabetics shouldn’t be having? Even the diabetic specific foods are loaded with carbs/sugars/starches etc. I had type 2. In no longer even pre diabetic. And it’s solely because I refused to take their diabetes management advice. I did the complete opposite practically. Also what I mean by diabetic specifically foods for example is like those “designed for diabetics” ensure. Mother in law drinks those. They are loaded with sugars. I keep telling her to get off that crap but all she has to say is “my dr says it’s good for me/my diabetes.” Yeah how’s that working out? It’s not.

Exercise and healthy foods key my friend. Count your carbs cut big sweets- I’m a type 1 diabetic insulin dependent I’m on a pump Baked fish Salmon Shrimp lettuce 🥬 wrapped or grilled chicken salads there is good food out there yes I sometimes eat me a fried chicken sandwich but I dial up the insulin pen and I’m good and go for a walk but still diet on a regular when the lows hit it’s hello Debbie cake lol 😂 don’t get discouraged my dude you got this

My wife is a brittle type 1 diabetic (her sugar can be in the 40s or over 600). She has an insulin pump with a sensor that will worn her to eat if her sugar is low or pump in some insulin if her sugar is going high. She also has to watch any injuries because diabetics are prone to getting infections from very minor injuries (we’ve been through that a couple times).

I knew an old man who tended to have low blood sugar. So he would HAVE to drink a chocolate milkshake or a root beer. I told him,"Oscar, you are one of the luckiest guys I know. A lot of people have to cut those things out." lol

Be careful Godwin. As you know diabetes is very serious and can lead to untold health complications. My dad had adult onset diabetes at age 42 and was insulin dependent for the next 41 years until his passing (not directly from diabetes). Listen to your doctor...please.
