In 2014, i was 14 when i saw this. In my whole life this was the first movie I went to where people went and clapped and cheered like CRAZY. and i have this movie to thank for that. And now I have been to movies opening night with great crowds like FNAF, John wick 4 etc.

Awesome Mason, thats what many of us love about actually going to the movies in a theater crowded with other people,..that has happened so many times when I went, of course with the Godzilla movies,..yess, ohh yeah us Godzilla fan fanatics, but also other movies ,..I went to see Road Trip, with Sean William Scott, Amy Smart, crazy movie, and there's a scene, I won't mention what, with this old man,..absolutely killer hilarious, and some guys, sitting behind me,..and myself included really lost it,..and I remember turning around as I hysterically laughed, and you know we both acknowledged like a shared thing, how crazy the scene was, and you know total strangers, same thing when I went to Aliens, people making all kinds of comments, when Sigourney, Ripley breaks out in her mech suit to fight the alien(spoiler if you haven't seen it, sorry), I shouted Megatron, and my friend, and a couple people near us laughed, and turned and looked at us and you know nodded in agreement,..there's just no experience, like that, the unspoken comradery with total strangers as you react to a movie,..so much fun, even if you go alone, went to see Purple Rain, when it came out, I swear, aside from all the great music, it literally was like going to a real concert, people were dancing in the isles, it was a fun rowdy good time,..keep going to theater, especially for movies like this, the experience is just better,..ohh and welcome to the monsterverse,..enjoy, Godspeed, Peace ✌

Welcome to the Monsterverse, boys, which has the best lore and versions of Godzilla and Kong in my opinion! And just in time too, since this movie official turns 10 next week! Quick heads up, the next movie you'll want to watch is "Kong: Skull Island (2017)", which they reference in "Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)", and there are after credits scenes in those 2 movies as well. The MUTOs have a parasitic relationship with Godzilla. Their spores that were found at the beginning of the movie were actually found within the fossil remains of another Godzilla, this suggests that the spores were feeding off the radiation from remains of that Godzilla, and when they absorbed it all, the female went dormant whilst the male went off through the ocean to find the nearest source of radiation, which was Japan.

That bigger 6 legged monster is an original Legendary monster, it isn't Mothra, they jut wanted to bring godzilla back to theaters for the audience to get acquainted with. So those 2 kaijus are purely original in the monsterverse, Mothra comes later, they need Toho's permission when using their monsters. This the 2nd time getting permission to use Godzilla since the 1998 one was the reason we'd later get this version Also, the reason Godzilla's atomic breath was like that is because the MUTO released the e.m.p so it affected Godzilla's atomic powers as well, since in later monsterverse movies its really different in the look and power. As far as Godzilla's origin here, Legendary used aspects that was required from Toho because they didn't want another godzilla 1998 situation.

Don't Confuse the MUTOs With the rest of the legendary Kaijus; Mothra Rodan Ghidra / Ghidora / King Ghidora Gigan and the rest.... Even though minus one was made after this you can still include it in the monster verse timeline easily. Remember that godzilla had to completely regenerate his body after falling into meat cubes, has had fifty more years of additional time to mutate. His atomic breath has changed over time, from when he first developed it after personally getting nuked, expending a bunch of energy to regenerate and being suppressed by the E.M.P of the MUTOs. You can also think of it a lot like a juvenile black mamba Or rattlesnake that has no control over its venom and just gives it all [Full Send] versus an adult that delivers controlled doses.

At lease the Japanese were happy with Godzilla design overall. Toho didn’t had no hope for an American Godzilla movie since the last one was a total mess. Shin Godzilla and minos One Godzilla together doesn't stand a chance against the legendary Godzilla. Shin Godzilla is too slow and it takes to much time to recharge. Minos One Godzilla has the best healing ability but he's not that durable also his atomic breath is like an atom bomb which the legendary Godzilla can absorb and become stronger.

The movie itself is okay but most people talks about Godzillas accurate design compared to the 1999 American Godzilla movie. I remember watching the first teaser trailer. The roar gave me chills and seeing the design of Godzilla was hype. Design has enough realism but the same time it’s doesn’t strain away from the Japanese designs. I think the Japanese audience were satisfied with the movie and the design of Gojira. I’m pretty this inspired Toho to reboot their Godzilla movies since 2004 to compete with a legendary’s monster verse.

This movie gets a lot of hate in the community for having so little screen time for Godzilla and uninteresting characters as well as killing of Brian Cranston so early. But I think it did an excellent job introducing the big g to western audiences and does many things better than any other. What's your problem with the MUTOs!? They're just two animals who want to live their lives and raise their families. They're not monsters who kill humans for fun, it's just that they're so huge that humans seem insignificant to them and they don't care about them, which causes collateral damage and they fight back when the military attacks them.
