Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a Navy bomb expert, has just reunited with his family in San Francisco when he is forced to go to Japan to help his estranged father, Joe (Bryan Cranston). Soon, both men are swept up in an escalating crisis when Godzilla, King of the Monsters, arises from the sea to combat malevolent adversaries that threaten the survival of humanity. The creatures leave colossal destruction in their wake, as they make their way toward their final battleground: San Francisco.

The Mutos definitely have the coolest sounds of any monster in my opinion. They sound both robotic, and alien. And judging by the clicking noises, I think they might be some form of echolocation like that used by both dolphins and bats.

This is by far the best scene in the monsterverse. The way she copies the aounds of the radio and the train, the way how they portray her as an actual threat (unlike ghidorah), that shot at 0:58 is beautiful and how they introduce the pregnancy.

I’m glad you agree. Ghidorah is literally not a threat to anyone, except for the helicopter scene and Fenway. We never see civilians actually reacting to his presence, it’s like all the monster fights are just happening and people are just kinda nonexistent in KOTM.

I legit got scared when first watching this scene, and I still get creeped out. It just makes you feel so tiny and insignificant compared to these titans and monsters. The sounds they make mixed in with how dark and suspenseful it is is just great.

This is why 2014 Godzilla is my favorite. The monsters are ominous. The new ones are cool, but are basically just Transformer movies with Kaiju instead. There really isn't a sense of dread and awe anymore, just fight scenes with some cookie cutter plot development.

What I found interesting about this scene is when the Female MUTO heard the radio of the soldier go off, she thought it was another MUTO calling her, and she mimicked it in the same pattern, and the two soldiers thought they were safe until a blazing train was approaching and then the MUTO came out of nowhere having Ford realise it was a trap
