This movie was a fuckin’ blast! Perfect amount of nostalgia, modern upgrades, practical effects, a damn good human story line, and Godzilla back to his roots as a stone cold menace. Loved his new design, a mix of Legendary and Heisei.

There's 2 instances when the original Godzilla march is played, one when Godzilla is doing his thing destroying the city which feels fitting and the other instance during the final showdown, where the Japanese decide to move forward with the plan with pure confidence, And all of a sudden this musical score is no longer about a big scary monster, It becomes a symbol of encouragement for the Japanese to fight on, I thought this decision was so powerful, Is Godzilla minus one a perfect movie? No, but what this film did was really something special

I went to see “Godzilla-1.0/-C” at a nearby movie theater (Futako Tamagawa 109) on the morning of its release. It was a 2D (7.1ch) screen, but I watched it with three friends sitting in the middle behind the front row seats for people with disabilities. Just the right amount of immersion. By making it monochrome, it looks even more realistic. The atmosphere of the Showa era is well reproduced. It was a great change. A must-see for fans. This monochrome version may be the true "Godzilla Minus One." Recreate low-tech with high-tech and enjoy a retro feel. However, regarding the sound, it might have been better if they had intentionally added some noise.
