Movies nowadays just portray Godzilla as a hero with atomic breath. This one shows pure terror and horror. It's like a living apocalypse. Can't wait for this one🔥

I think it depends. With the Godzilla franchise that started in 2014, Godzilla came off as neutral. Though in Godzilla King of the Monsters vs Godzilla vs Kong, he did come as a hero and/or at least misunderstood of sorts.

I am glad they decided to go once more for the horror focused elements of the franchise and the representation of Japan's social and political struggles like they did in Shin Godzilla. Movies feel way more serious, closer to the original, when they are like this

I watched the original 1954 Godzilla yesterday afternoon, not knowing the new trailer for Godzilla Minus One was coming out. The feel of the trailer for this movie certainly reminds of the topics of the 1954 version, and it appears not much has been spared with regard to the special effects of the movie. Looking forward to seeing this new origin story for Godzilla.

As much as I love the silly Godzilla movies (which is most of them by a wide margin), the 1954 original has always been my favorite, and I've always wanted to see that horrifying story told with the VFX to back it up. The trailers for 2014 led me to think that would happen, only to learn that those trailers were blatant false advertising... I still retain a sliver of skepticism but man, it looks like Minus One is going to deliver the Godzilla movie I've been waiting for my entire life.

Fun fact: Takashi Yamazaki the director of this film is a big fan of Godzilla, he also featured Godzilla as cameo in "Always: Sunset on Third Street" on 2005 and he is the director of "Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle" which have same design for Godzilla in this film

I did the same thing as a kid, take a bedroom sheet, put it on my back with some of the sheet as a tail and mimick Godzilla's roar! I also had a big toy of Rodan, wish I still had it!
