I loved this movie. Cast was amazing. CGI was great. There was freaking fighter jets on the Brooklyn bridge. Godzilla was lean and badass. The logo was dope. The roar was iconic. The cinematography was great. People that hate on this movie didnt watch it at the correct age at the correct time. Better than jurassic world 2 or 3 (jurassic park 1 and jurassic world were the two best dinosaur movies of all time).

So if I may, most of the people that didn’t like this movie are mostly the ones who grew up with the old school Godzilla movies. And those movies did have a certain lore of Godzilla if you will. It’s kinda evolved over time and yea he did at first start off a just a monster created from nuclear radiation but still he had a certain character to him. This movie kinda ignores most of that at least until the cartoon. And after watching the OG movies I kinda understand them, although I do still appreciate this version, it tried something different. But in terms of an American Godzilla movie I more prefer the more recent ones.

I watched a lot of Godzilla as a kid, but I remember adoring this one; one thing that this movie gets right versus modern monster movies is that the perspective is centered around the people. You're on the ground with them experiencing the carnage, seeing Godzilla from a human view. It makes him (her...?) a lot more scary, but also a lot more realistic and tangible. The way the cars jumped, the boats falling from the sky, the chaos as people ran at camera-eye view... it was a really well done film, and modern Godzilla movies could learn from it instead of continuously keeping the camera at the monster's perspective.
@ursidae975 ай бұрын
I was so excited to see something a little less comedy and a little more cosmic horror from the American Gojira movie but that's not really what we got. Shin Godzilla was more my speed, but I appreciate this movie cared about showing some human level horror.
