The 1998 film was terrible! Wasn't even Godzilla, that's why they wouldn't show him in the trailer! They wouldn't reveal "Godzilla" until the movie was released. The producers of the film were ashamed of what they did to the creature, altering his look, destroying it in other words!

I’m working on a story that’s anime based. It centers around a female scientist on monsters island who becomes the leading authority on giant monsters. Thing is tho, after being incidentally saved by Godzilla, she absolutely loves and does everything she can to protect the monsters. Constantly she improves the conditions for the monsters on the island and she even gets mad when they are called monsters. They are creatures in her eyes. Her short time as a scientist garners concern and attention from the military who send a new pilot into monster island as security. His real mission though is to spy on her and find out if she poses a threat to island security. He cannot help but feel romantically involved after not too long due to her bravery in field assignments and how close she gets to the monsters he despises and makes him question his own morality and beliefs. However one night he discovers her sneaking into the island at night, a forbidden act, and follows her where he discovers her ultimate secret. She has not only established a private lab cut off from the rest of the islands monitoring systems and security, but has also made physical contact with the Godzilla himself and she reveals to the pilot upon being confronted that she intends to create a program using monsters to fight off and capture other monsters in the process so they can be placed on the island. She feels she can succeed where others have failed because she’s made a connection with a handful of the islands monsters and with Godzilla in the lead, and her most trusted monster, she feels she can accomplish this.

I forgot to mention, she absolutely despises most people. Her father lost his job when she was younger and got in an accident that ended his life and the lives of a mother and two children. She considers it a suicide and murder in her eyes and blamed him for her and her mothers crumbling relationship that followed until her mothers death. Her first encounter with a monster was when she was living in New York at the time of this Godzilla’s first appearance where she clearly establishes through observation alone it is not a true Godzilla impressing the lead authority of monsters at time not only with her observation but the fact she was able to follow and record the creature briefly and obtain samples of his sling by herself. This aptly earned her a free entrance into his private schooling on giant monsters which led to her earning a position on the island at a very young age.

Zilla jr is so underrated. He needs more love as does Godzilla the Series. That show took what Godzilla 98 started and evolved it to it's best form. Nuclear fire, Godzilla being durable as hell. While adding some new tricks to Godzilla. Jr was fast af for a kaiju and could dig like no other.

In the movie, Zilla sr breathed normal orange fire. In the toy line, they made it blue instead. And in the cartoon, Zilla jr's fire was green. Kind of weird.

@@RokuroCarisuZilla never breathe fire. It was a power breath that cause a few vehicles to collide into each other which resulted in an explosion, thus making it seem like there was fire breathing. The toy line did blue because Cyber Zilla was in the series.

the fun part is him and the 98 movie monster never lost the godzilla tittle they just made zilla and used the design or a version of those designs and everyone ran with the idea that these are not godzilla since the fandom back in the days from final wars to recently jsut ran with hear say. god I love jr he fights so unique? like despite being strong he never does the classic tank shit standing still and slowly bulldoze the enemy most of the classic japanese godzilla versions do, he claws and throws quickly and close at different angles and ran to keep distances, made traps and knew when to go to nick and the team for help. I miss him a lot lmao for that and many other reasons hes a highlight of the whole godzilla franchise

@@kR-qj7rw Zilla was called Zilla due to the actor that first played Godzilla saying after seeing Godzilla 1998, that they took the God out of Godzilla. After the cartoon and the years between 1998 and Final Wars, people had come to appreciate it. Thus Toho made the Zilla's apart of the same world as Godzilla, rather begrudgingly at that. As for how Jr. fought, I liked it as well, he was always very smart about it. I think Jr. and Legendary Godzilla could have a pretty even battle, though I think they'd make a better team, Godzilla the tank, and Jr. coming in with the advanced tactics and new ideas. Godzilla could learn a feat deal from Jr., and Jr. could learn a great deal from Godzilla.

I love that this takes inspiration from animated series more than the movie. The problem with the movie is that they tried to be too realistic with it. So no atomic breath or giant monster fights. That version didn't even really do anything. It just ran from the military and got mowed down by rockets. Even the mayor at one point said they destroyed more than Zilla did.

Very nice, looks like official cgi-cartoon. Maybe not the most AAA-one, but still rivals modern cgi cartoons, like pacific rim series. Nice to hear OST unchanged, that music and the series a whole were the source of inspiration for me, allowing to learn english deep enough since 2005.

God the chills, Zilla definitely earns his crown as a king of monsters, in many ways he's actually more alike to Ultraman or Gamera, protecting peace in general and some monsters who are merely animals or misuderstood in their intent, I hope future godzilla franchises can actually use that altruistic personality, I feel like Monsterverse didn't use it enough

That was freaking awesome. I love that show. Makes me want to watch it now hahaha. It was the beginning of great things the 98 movie started. Sad part is so many ppl should be thanking the 98 movie. We never would've gotten that amazing show without it and who knows if the millennium era of Godzilla would've ever began had toho not wanted to have to reboot Him to remind ppl who the real Godzilla was.
