@@sincereeastman6972 The original Godzilla - the Raymond Burr version, sans Raymond Burr, is available on DVD. It's in Japanese with subtitles. Anyone who has seen the original will recognize it in an instant. The story line however is completely different. Hard to believe, but true. The big guy is symbolic of American wartime brutality, a mass murderer, and the Japanese protagonists represent Bushida nobility at its best in the face of calamity. In the end, Japan conquers the aggressor, at great sacrifice to Japan. Within 10 years, the big guy has transformed into a bumbling hero, a protector of Japan, although he makes a huge mess of it as he does so. Who the bad guys represent, well, that's another lesson for another day.

This is absolutely epic. I remember wanting my high school band to perform a Godzilla song, as they had performed Star Wars and Indiana Jones. But seeing the Japanese military perform these glorious pieces? Well, I feel a bit better. I love that the world is starting to wake up and live again...with the knowledge that Godzilla truly IS awesome!

Hell yeh considering Godzilla came way before Stars Wars and Indiana Jones. It is a legend of the film industry especially from Japan who always had the cool original ideas. It must have been awesome hearing this live. I wished I was there.

I wish the "Frigate March" should be the JSDF official anthem. Although used in a fictional world, it's still a world where a proud nation is still brave enough to fight and die against all odds. That song makes me feel as much pride for Japan, as the Star Spangled Banner makes me feel for my own home...and PRIDE is the fundamental foundation for any nation's people. The Japanese certainly deserve that pride. I just wish that my own country would let them have it, and stop treating them like post-war pets.
