I'm personally rooting for Godzilla myself. He's my all time favorite kaiju and I've seen all the films he's been featured in, including the original King Kong vs. Godzilla. In the first round in the film, Godzilla scared Kong off with his atomic breath, but in the second and final round, Kong developed the ability to control electricity to a point where he used it against Godzilla. Rhe fight ended when both monsters fell into the sea. Kong surfaced and swam away, but Godzilla never came up. I think in this new battle, Kong will get the power to manipulate electricity as he did before. STILL I want Godzilla to come up on top this time. Godzilla is the true king of the Titans. I'll still enjoy the movie if Godzilla is defeated, but I'll be disappointed if he gets his butt kicked, and I'll get really ticked if Godzilla is killed. They better not kill him off!

The thing that makes this fight that's going to happen so hard to judge on who would win, is that they each have a good "counter ability" for their strengths. Godzilla has his ray and Kong is definitely weak against it, but Kong is more agile and can dodge it. Kong can throw a hell of a punch, but Godzilla can take a punch. It's never going to be completely one-sided. The only big disadvantage Kong has that I can think of is the water. Like this animation expertly displays, if Godzilla gets Kong in the water, it's over for Kong. It's like a human fighting a crocodile or a shark. The human would need to hold their breath while fighting and the crocodile/shark could easily tire them out and then drag them down. The thing is, Kong is smart, so he might realize this and try and stay away from the water as much as possible. I'm pretty sure it was also revealed that Godzilla's gills are his weak point. Kong might pick up on that and use it to his advantage, maybe stabbing them with a tree or something. Also, I love the idea of Kong breaking or dislocating Godzilla's arm. He may not be able to puncture his skin, but he's definitely strong enough to break a bone. Maybe he could use a rock and smash Godzilla's leg or something.

Well it would be interesting to see Kong sneak attack godzilla and try to dislocate his tail or something. Godzilla's weakness is his tail, if he loses it, he'll lose balance and can't walk or swim properly. So I can't say that Godzilla's gonna win because they both have their own special abilities. For GvK, I'm on Team Kong. Now, before everyone on Team Godzilla bombards me with hate, let me just explain why I'm on Kong's side. After watching Skull Island so many times, there are unique and great qualities to Kong. He has remarkable intelligence, and shows human emotion, and he thinks and possibly cares about other beings (saving Weaver from drowning and the Skullcrawler) and he can create tools and use items to fight. (Using the tree as a baseball bat, and the boat propeller to combat the Skullcrawler) So, for next year's Godzilla vs Kong, I think Kong will have something unexpected up his sleeve and will possibly get the upper hand on Godzilla. Plus, someone has to root for the underdog.

1. Yes and no. Godzilla historically has taken on much bigger threats than any version of Kong has. With every ability Godzilla has displayed, versus Kongs stuff, it's harder to take Kong as a realllllly big threat especially after KOTM. 2. Godzilla means "God Incarnate". Remember as well that the older civilizations treated the Titans as Gods. Kongs species isn't as old as the other Titans from what we know. Yes, the Iwi's considered him the God of Skull Island but that's still just one island compared to the majority of the other Titans and what they can do. As it stands right now, I don't have much faith in Kong so I'm hoping the comic where he fights Camazotz will showcase what he can do before the movie. I do hope that neither one dies though, the Monsterverse Kong is my favorite incarnation.

Evidently not, these are different incarnations, MonsterVerse doesn't combine everything that came before or Godzilla would be able to blow up the Earth and Kong would be able to merge with a human, among other weird stuff the two franchises have done. 2. Superman's name doesn't necessarily make him the most Super of men, don't take the 'god incarnate' thing too seriously. That was just a name chosen by one guy unlike Kong whose kind was revered for generations by a large tribe of natives.

That's the biggest reason why people are giving Kong flack for his chances in the movie, even if this version is tougher than all the others except the Toho Kong. 2. You say Kongs kind was revered for generations, that is true. However, don't forget in KOTM that Godzilla along with other Titans were revered as well. I don't believe Kongs species is as ancient as the others are.

Godzilla must win in 2020 if they do not join for a team, they might join, but if they do not join Godzilla must win for the same reason that if he can swim, it is impossible that the 2020 movie is like that of 1962 that there was no sense in which Kong won
