So we are here to finally get up to date on the Monsterverse and this movie is titled GODZILLA VS KONG. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home. Along for the ride is Jia, an orphaned girl who has a unique and powerful bond with the mighty beast. However, they soon find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla as he cuts a swath of destruction across the globe. The initial confrontation between the two titans -- instigated by unseen forces -- is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the planet.

In the comic "Kingdom Kong", an evil bat Titan named Camazotz caused one of the remnants of King Ghidorah's superstorms to move to and merge with the perpetual storm that surrounded Skull Island, permanently covering the island in stormy darkness so he could emerge from the hollow earth and take over the island by killing Kong. After a battle between them with some researchers and the military helping Kong, they were able to banish Camazotz back to the hollow earth. But the storm wiped out the native people except for the girl and nearly all the other animal life, so Monarch built the biodome to save Kong. King Ghidorah's mind took control of Mechagodzilla with the aid of the hollow earth energy, his mind and the mech's AI fusing into a new being of rage and revenge. It's actually not the first time it's happened in the franchise, in the 1993 Toho movie "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II" Mechagodzilla was built by humanity from the remains and specs of Mecha-King Ghidorah, and in the manga adaptation MKG's programming and Ghidorah's consciousness took over Mechagodzilla and very nearly killed Godzilla by beating him and nearly beheading him.

I love the nod to the 1962 Toho Studios movie King Kong VS Godzilla. When Kong shoves the handle of his axe into Godzilla's mouth, it parallels the '62 movie when Kong forcefed Godzilla a tree.

Godzilla used like half of his power to blast to hollow earth. Then fought Kong. He came into the MechaG fight severely fatigued and power depleted. He would have won if he was fresh.

The blade of Kong's ax 🪓 is made from one of the dorsal plates of Godzilla's species, which is why it is able to block and absorb Godzilla's Atomic Breath, and when charged up can cut through Godzilla's tough thick scalie hide.

If Godzilla was at 100% of health, he could take down MechaGodzilla after knowing how his enemy fights. Since it was already tired after fighting Kong, that's why Godzilla was taken down severely.

Yall should watch KING KONG 2005 it’s in my opinion the best remake of a classic monster movie I ever seen the cgi still holds up the story is tragic but beautiful the king scenes are GOLD definitely should give it watch it won a few awards if I’m not mistaken LOVED IT AS A KID and still makes me a lil misty eyes to this day

just to clarify things when godzilla roar at kong he wants kong to submit but kong roared back showing his alpha side that kong chooses death rather than submit thats why godzilla spared kong at the end kong drops the axe as a sign both godzilla and kong end their rivalry kong will be alpha in hollow earth and godzilla will be alpha in the surface in other words we have two alpha of the monsterverse now
