In wrestling terms, Godzilla was working heel, King Kong was working face. King Kong did "the job" for Godzilla but was given a lot of promo time in return. In the end , Godzilla wins but both came out looking strong.

Don’t forget, Kong manage to get over by being to deal a clean finish on Mecha Godzilla. Not to mention his match with Godzilla is sort of similar to the match between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin. So he definitely wasn’t a complete jobber in the film despite what a lot of Godzilla fans suggest

There were a lot of people l have found to be on #TeamKong. From reaction videos, reviews, and polls. There were a lot more people rooting for Kong than you realize. (I wasn't one of them, though. #TeamGodzilla all the way.)

Should have ended with a twist where the two groups of human characters start fighting and the monsters just sit and watch them

There actually is a backstory for the Kong axe. It was written like 2-3yrs ago. It's about Dagon, he was the second to last member of Godzilla's species. He was the one depicted in the cave writings on Skull Island.

Toho needs to license out Destroyah for them to use. Maybe even introduce Jet Jaguar to help out Godzilla in the fight. Do the Death of Godzilla with it too.

This was so good the action was good I found the little girl real interesting definitely her relationship with kong and also they gave us a winner in a vs movie and it doesn’t end with someone saying Martha.

I think it’s Godzilla’s ancestors... cause there were multiple scales / axes which all lines up that forms a serpent type drawing on the ground

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie as well. Here's hoping the Monsterverse does continue. Speaking of anime, there is going to be one for Skull Island about Kong and what goes on there coming from Netflix. And Godzilla has a new anime series called Singular Point airing on Netflix Japan for now and coming internationally later this year. As for comics, IDW recently renewed their license to make more Godzilla comics, starting this month. And Legendary has their own comics division for tie-in stuff to properties they own. This week, 2 prequel comics to GvK release. One is Godzilla Dominion, from Godzilla's POV and what he does to keep the balance, as well as showing what became of the other Titans that awoke in KotM. Kingdom Kong is the other comic, which shows adult Kong now before the events of GvK.

I’d watch a silent movie that is this movie purely from Godzilla’s perspective. Still has music but title cards for the thoughts of Godzilla. Same run time too... I’d be entertained.

You left out the kaiju in the room. Godzilla in his first two films would have towered over not only the Kong from Skull Island but over cities. yet in this one they were fighting in the streets, smaller than the buildings around them. My 12 year old buddy wondered if maybe this was Godzookey.

It's a common complaint but I never had any problems with the humans in these movies but I will say that the conspiracy theorist guy was like a Transformers character here which sorta makes sense given you know what (- ^ )
