This is beauty incarnate. Somber yet hopeful. I imagine this playing as mothra goes back to her people, her wings shine in the evening sun, the guardian of civilization has come home. While not my favorite Ifukube track, it is easily the most beautiful.

She never knew what happened to the king afterwards, of the things he went through, like finding his son in a place where a robot and bird have him on their death list, and chasing down his captor from space just to free him from his prison, despite him almost getting killed by crystals, and eventually dying of fever and grief after seeing his son killed in front of him, yet is at peace when he finds out his son took his place as the next king and brought fear to his name when he kills a 60-million-year-old alien

this is how i really felt as well . the first time i ever watched the 1954 godzilla japan film version it made me in tears of a choice behind 3 people one a zoo person that wants to know why godzilla survived in atomic bombing and doesn't want godzilla to be killed . two. a person that made a terrible discovery of a weapon and he doesn't want it in the wrong hands but he has no choice but to use it to kill godzilla for the sake of human man kind of godzilla's radiation that is killing millions of people and world rest on his shoulders . 3rd . the human monsters that will grow and destroy and bring the environment to shame and more Godzilla's will appear to get rid or spread the monster's that's inside us . pretty much how i feel when i saw the ending of this film and hear this music . it brings me back that feeling in the 1954 film

Personally I love these films and this one was one was one of my favorites as a kid. Say what you want about whether these films are good or not, but I think everyone can agree that the music for these films were very beautifully done!

They're good. They were probably Godzilla at his peak. Everything's here. Good human characters, grounded but awesome plots, character development for the Kaiju (specially Goji), Junior's arc and even the ultimate villain, who ties with the 1954 film. The Heisei Era was truly special. Legendary should take some notes from it
