While we didn’t get a lot of perspective to scale him with other things in this trailer, other than Kong, it’s been confirmed that for every movie he’s in (in this universe at least), he’s grown a decent bit. I think the reason you think this is because of the monsters Godzilla’s fought. First the mutos, who were decent in size, but pretty sure Godzilla was bigger than both of them. Then ghidorah who towered over Godzilla but was relatively slim, making Godzilla seem small in comparison. Finally there’s kong and mecha-Godzilla who were both around Godzilla’s size, if not overall bigger. TL;DR: Godzilla is getting progressively bigger, it’s just his foes keep one upping the previous in terms of overall size.

I think a lot of that has to do with the direction of each movie. Godzilla 2014 seemed so large because of the camera work and audio design, Gareth Edwards is really good with scale (see rogue one). He moved slow and carried weight and he’s often shown from the humans pov. It seems like as the movies continue they’re falling back on this. I loved how fast he was in Godzilla v Kong but it definitely takes away from the belief that this is supposed to be a 350+ ft tall thing

Bro, I’m so glad this cinematic universe is getting more content. I wanna se what all they do. A Rodan movie? Yes A epic Mothra revival? YES! Destroyah? Space godzilla? Mecha King Ghidorah? YES!!!! This franchise could go so far! Just as long as they give us good backstory, relatable and likeable human characters that can be funny when the moment calls for it, and an overarching story. It’s staying true to the original story though. I do agree that it’s titanic feelings has somewhat faded, but it’s not because of the colors rather it’s the scale of the enemies and the location. Without city scape to make reference to size they could be pea size in a barren land for all we know. Anyways I agree the feel is missing, but not for the reasons you’re thinking. And if those things actually are having that affect on you, that’s fair, but it’s following the original story more than you’d think even if it does seem kind of silly.

Well one new form and sometimes toy companies can make new characters/ new stuff for the toy line of the movie to ether thicken the amount of toys or when they don’t have information about the movie yet that’s why the original gvk toys had that large black Kong despite him never being that color in the film and why we got more accurate toys after the movie came out

You might be rightly friend remember that the titans. Can sense threats and Godzilla being who he is sense King Ghidorah and sought him out to destroy him. Could it be that this threat is so powerful and overwhelming Godzilla knew that if he didn't go into hibernation and evolve absorb a new radiation source that he couldn't win. Not to mention the lives of every living creature on earth is at stake. Godzilla instincts are more accute and sharper than Kong because he wasn't isolated. And Kong grew up on Skull Island an island covered by a perpetual storm. The only titans Kong knew of were the Skull Crawlers. This new threat isn't the Scar King but it is Shimu who is of Godzilla's species and is suppose to be the most powerful titan ever more threatening than King Ghidorah.
