This game remind me of the old 60’s movie with Cary Grant and Leslie Carron, Father Goose. Grant played a coastal watcher who was recruiter against his will by the Australian navy. It’s a cool concept for a game, not something you see very often

I agree. It makes me think of how in education we generally ask kids to give us answers with access to complete information, yet real life usually has us making decisions in ambiguity. Wargames tend to do the same thing and gives players full information, but this game tosses ambiguity at the player and forces decisions. I love the concept, can't wait to see how it plays.

I am really excited about the subject matter of the game, the coast watchers, and really pleased a solitaire system will be developed. Can't wait. Thanks for the excellent interview.

Me too. I think the gameplay will be very unique and I'm fascinated by how they'll capture the gameplay in solitaire mode.

It's so neat to see some of these overlooked aspects of military history put into a game. This is what I love about this hobby. Volko, you have my support. Just put my order in.

I think for a game like this we've not had an existing system that could model the gameplay. Now that we've got a system, the sky's the limit! :)

Thank you, great content and a Great interview. I’m glad to hear he’s used Atlantic Chase as his rule book inspiration. That has to be the most accessible war game rule set I’ve used.

I didnt fund Blackbeard as there was no solo mode. I understand that and may yet buy it later. (especially if a gaming partner falls from the sky) But...Volko saying he'd rather NOT have a solo mode than release some subpar, crummy solo game just to say there was one sold me on his creations for life! How fresh that he wants us to have a fun, memorable experience over him making a buck! Thank you Volko! BTW, CW preorder is at 633!

Have it ordered! I think Volko would be the man to develop my idea of a game based on the state recruitment of civil war soldiers. In Ohio it was pretty cutthroat between cities and counties and was quite competitive, sometimes nasty. For good info read "The Untried Life" which is the regimental history of the 29th OVI. I'm sure every state(especially NY and PA) was just as competitive.

@@ZillaBlitz I have a hard enough time reading and digesting a set of rules let alone design a playable game! I'll be content to play Coast Watchers and continue to believe my idea had a smidgen of merit!!
