Most decks are shoot down from Porygon Z. Here are some of the ways to not get destroyed by it: Colorless pokemon (i.e. Pidgeot/Pidgeot EX, Tauros from MI, Porygon Z itself) Mew EX Moltres EX lucky ramp early game (also if you keep fire energy you may try again mid game) Manaphy alive with at least 1 water energy on it lucky Misty rolls Gardevoir ramp Magneton + Dawn Volkner deck (with potentially self charging Electabuzz) Exeggcutor EX from A1 (just need 1 grass energy to be placed beforehand and it's good to fight; alternatively if its late game if you Sabrina Porygon Z into something that can't retreat immediately and you are using Exeggcute from MI then you may use any type of energy to gain grass energy on it - rarely would happen but possible) Swanna (funny enough it has 90 HP so it will survive 1 attack from Porygon Z and it hits for 70 wich means it 2 shots it back; Swanna need colroless energy but can benefit from Misty or Manaphy too - perhaps it's hidden gem in this meta, though i doubt people will use it just for Porygon Z match ups. Personally i don't recommand it).

11:30 What that user means is that it’s pretty much an KO at times. Like if you retreat to save your pokemon, someone can just Cyrus and it’s a lose-lose. Sabrina at least lets you strategize by making you choose who to send out. Anything that is cheap and easy is braindead Edit: The Blastoise battle showed that. Your opponent’s best option was to retreat Blastoise, but he still ended up getting punished for it.

It's a neat idea but the fact that it takes 3 energy and is Stage 2 just makes it hard to exploit. It would be cool if it was 1 energy and did 40-50 damage.

Well they will get a random energy to use. Then it's your turn, giving you the chance to change it again. As long as Porygon-Z is on the board, it's the entirety of the game

That Sabrina was definitely a miss play, if you killed his Manaphy instead his blastoise wouldve been stuck at 3 water energy. instead he got the 4 he needed to do 160. Manaphy is just a more important target especially when using Porygon Z since thats the only card besides misty that can just create the energy for vaporeon to move around in the first place. Side note, its crazy people were saying Sabrina would still be better than Cyrus in non bench hitting decks yet Cyrus still allowed you to win thay game despite that massive missplay with Sabrina.

I think Sabrina is still going to be viable even with Cyrus, just never running it at 2. I think people use Sabrina wrong anyway. People play these cards but seldom think about what will happen after they play them, such as their opp just bringing it back out. People shouldn't play it unless there is a clear advantage to be gained from it. I enjoy playing Sabrina early to disrupt their energy placement/forcing them to burn energy to retreat or lock in late game victories.

Even something as small as forcing energy advantage with Sabrina is an advantage man. Doesn’t have to be a game ending play to be worth using. With that mindset you’ll end up holding Sabrina too long and wasting it

No it isn't. the attack needs two extra water on top of the two water and one colorless, so four water with one random energy. It worked as intended, learn to read

No, Blastoise EX requires 4 Water energy to do 160. The attack cost is W+W+* which means that if you have any energy to cover the *, then you only need 4 W to do 160. (2 W for cost + 1 random + 2 extra W to get the effect online)

It looks like a lot of people have been doing Rampardos + Lucario + Hitmonchan. I’m curious tho since it’s a fossil if machamp wouldn’t be better. Thoughts anybody?

Rampardos line is slightly better because of the one energy cost to attack all the way through and only gives up one point compared to Machamp. Machamp is good if opening and pulls are good. While you can run fine without ever getting Lucario or Rampardos online, I use a Marshadow instead of double Hitmonchan. Both decks rely on not bricking though.

@johnmarksmithmiller9895 from my observations this pack helped charizard’s biggest weaknesses with Pokecomm, and since mew isn’t really that helpful for charizard anymore you can get INSANE value with Shaymin. It’ll usually heal more than potion or cape, and it countered spiritomb completely. Zard is a deck that feels like it could have room for 1 more Pokemon usually besides just Zard and moltres, and so Shaymin just fits real well. Also gives you another card to work with pokecomm which can be nice. It can keep ur moltres healthy early on too, while also helping protect charmander. It’s a very solid pick imo

Counters spiritomb, protects charmander and moltres, works with pokecomm, and typically gives more value over time than a cape or potion (although those are better for darkrai, greninja, druddigon, etc, I run 1 potion and Shaymin personally). Imo it does a lot better than Mew EX now and it’s only 1 point which is nice. That’s just my opinion tho lol

This deck sucks. In my experience you very rarely get both Porygon + Dialga in the first 3 turns. So most games are a wash because you're building up one pokemon manually. On top of that, Gallade decks are everywhere and 1 shot this with ease - there is no scenario where this can beat a gallade deck unless the opponent only draws support cards.
