@@KleoYan Ah thanks for the example, I think that is the same card I have too!! 😆 I like the 4090 TUF set to 70% power limit. Reduces by about 100w and keeps most of the performance. Gotta give credit to Optimum Tech for teaching me that. 4000 series does not actually work undervolting compared to 3000 series which he also showed off.

@@KleoYan Optimum Tech showed when trying to undervolt the 4000 series that the readings kind of lie and you're actually getting worse performance, so he and Debaur have recommended just power limiting from what I recal. Debaur did a cool video showing the performance you generally keep at different power limits too and 70% was around the sweet spot.

Nice mb, I have the x870e crosshair hero and 9800X3D for my new pc. The hero has a backplate and is quite heavy! I saw another reviewer of the hero say it would be worth it to remove backplate and add thermal pads for the memory chips. What are ur thoughts on that?? Thanks for sharing 👍

Hi ya Evil Bane, welcome back. thank you for your feedback. It will definately help on the cooling if you place thermal pads between the VRMs and the backplate. Also provided that you have good case ventilation, if not heat will accumulate within the case.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be using a hyte y70 touch case with 10 lian li infinity fans and a gallahad 2 lcd 360 AIO. Do u know if the controller for the gallahad will be able to have all my fans plugged into it?

@@puddleduckist the GA II LCD pump block connection, is only for standard fans. plus the power supply to the fans are at lower power. I wouldn't advise to plug any uni fans to the pump block fan socket. Anyway if you do so, you still need adaptors which complicate the connection.

@@puddleduckist oh ok ,,, my bad.. for that. the controler itself, each port can cater up to 4 fans. total is 16 fans and not more than that. so your 10 SL infinity fans will be of no issue to plug to that single controller.

Peiple often nention the Asrock Nova and Taichi have no lane sharing but that is because Asrock chose tp go with a single m2 5.0 slot on their boards so there is nothing for the GPU to share with

Hi Keith Flanagan, welcome back. infact what I feel is that ASRock have not fully set the rear to run all with 3.2 usb port at gen 2. if you observe the layout of those ASRock boards, they have limited the USB version at the back. that's why no lane share and on the ASRock X870E Nova, if you insert the last PCIE slot the m.2 slot 5 will be disable. I guess that's all well plan as I feel that how often do we populate all USB at the rear. so ya, that's my thought.

Do you get x16 in the pcie gen 5 slot for the gpu if you only use the m.2_1 gen 5 slot to the right of the board? If so, is there a downside to using that m.2 slot since it sits a bit further away from the socket?

Hi ICEFOOL , welcome to my channel. If you only place your m.2 at M.2 2_1 Gen 5 slot, it will run x16 on your GPU. yes though the M.2 2_1 slot is away but it is still controlled by your processor.

Its a pity no cooling for the base of double sided m2's in both gen4 slots. No plates/thermsl pads unlike MSI Carbon and Gigabyte Master. This is also missing on the hero and proart. The m2_1 heatsink looks pretty beefy though and is positioned close to front airflow

Do you know if the Gigabyte Aorus Pro Ice has cooling for double sided SSDs in all its M2 slots? The Gigabyte website suggests they do, but I read in the Overclockers review that only the top most M2 slot has back cooling.

I have the Crosshair 870E. Bummer the only m.2 lane attached to the cpu without sharing lanes with pci-e_1 doesn't let the heat sink clip secure if using a double-sided m.2 drive. You have to take off the bottom plate for the heat sink to clip in but than you have no support on the bottom of the m.2 drive. Read the manual thoroughly and didn't Cleary mentioned double sided drive precaution if installing in m.2 1. I put the double-sided drive-in m.2_4 attached to chipset. Its still fast, doesn't seem any different when I had it cpu attached on my other 670e crosshair

HI birdsoup777, welcome to my channel. I believe your m.2 are of dual side chip which is pretty thick. You are correct and not wrong, some m.2 chip height is thicker and when it's on both sides, it''s hard to clip the m.2 heatsink back in place. Again you are rigth, you will need to remove the bottom plate, then you will be able to clip back the m.2 heatsink. Thank you for your input. I do have this problem with the ProArt X870E too.

It greatly depends on your needs and justification to own either boards, if you do not have budget constraint and just want asethetic both boards will do fine, but if you want more lanes and no compromises, ASRock X870E Nova will be the choice. If you just want to play games and such.. I would go for X870E Tomahawk. So it greatly depends what are your needs.

I'm learning the rear audio only outputs to stereo, whats the point of a better audio on board if most if not all x870 boards have eliminated an easy 5.1 hookup. I'm not sure if the optical out will be enough for my z5500 to give me 5.1. Not one reviewer amonst hundreds has mention the loss of easy 5.1 setup in the 870 boards. If I get a 670 series all the audio hookups for 5.1 are still there.

Hi, I bought six Artic p12 argb fans which have like 0.11 amp per fan and 0.45 amp per argb, am I fine to daisy chain three of those with each other and plug them into one fan header and one argb header (same with the remaining 3 but different headers then ofc)? Hi Alaska, welcome to my channel. For the fan header of the motherboard is to 1a, so if you total up 3 fans is at 0.33a. It will be fine and it will also be fine to have 3 fan’s argb to daisy chained to 1 argb header as each header is at 3a as the total of 3 argb is at 1.35a.

Hi Banana Beach, to be real honest, the capability of each brand motherboard has their own strenght and the performance from each other do not really have a big gap. What's more important is the processor silicon chip. The better construction it is or so call good bin processure, all these mid tier X870 or X870E boards will be able to push the performance.

@@huntersoles6869 hi welcome to my channel. You will need to do the bios flashback for your 9800X3D to work. As the default bios is only meant for non 9000 X3D processor.

If you want to have PCIe x16, you can't either 1 or both M.2 slots 2 or 3 as they reduce it to 8X. This is effectively 1x PCIe 5 M.2 and 2x 4.0 slot board unless you are fine with cutting x16 slot bandwidth in half. It may be fine with future cards that are PCIe 5.0 compatible and can run at 8x with no loss of bandwidth, but as of now, you are better off with a cheaper board like my old X670E-F which can run the full 4x M.2 slots while staying at 16x and only loose a USB4 SLOT, 1 usb 3.0 header and the digital display but also gain an extra useable M.2 slot and an additional 1x PCie 3 slot. More important is that it works, the X870E-E is a buggy mess right now, with EXPO/DOCP being borked to the point where for me at least, it disables those 2 bandwidth strangling M.2 drives but while staying at x8, and for others its not booting at all. Got to say, so far this is the worst mobo I have ever had in the 25 years I have been building PCs, and I say that even compared to janky cheap boards, as at least you expect that and they are dirt cheap, this one cost as much as my 9800X3D and can't even get the description of what happens when you use either M.2 2 or 3 and just makes it sound like it openly does it when you use both.

Why I bought this board is that I don't want to have to install a new motherboard later on. I am future proof with this board. I can install my 5080 when they are released and I am PCiE 5.0 ready to go. Plus the USB config on the back of this board is much better than anything on cheaper boards. Yes, it's more expensive, but then again, I don't have to go through the pain of installing a new motherboard later on.

Hi FutureDMZ, welcome to my channel. If you do need USB 4.0 with DP functions and more m.2 slots, it's not silly at all. Hence you will have room for further CPU upgrades. If you do not need these features, then it might be a waste, unless the board pricing is almost on par with the X670E-E. The choice is yours, just a headsup if you are able to wait, the B850 series will be out soon.

Hi Romi, welcome to my channel. If you need USB 4 with the Type C DP port, then sell your X670E, if you do not need that.. then keep the X670E. As for how good as in comparision, I can't do any comparision as I do not have the Crosshair X670E Hero board.

@KleoYan I got this motherboard with 9800x3d Sometimes post says all of the cpu power isn't plugged in, but I think it is. Also when I turn on xmp my Samsung 990 pro isnt detected anymore. I think it's because of the bio drivers. It's too new..

Hi Twisted_VII, welcome to my channel. For Sata Ports, M.2 will not be compromised.. it's only when you plug your GPU to the 1 PCI-E slot.. It will run X8 if you populate either the 2nd or 3rd M.2 Slot.

@KaEl-Alpha There is no flaw. The slot is mechanically 16x but operates at 4x electrically. See spec summary on page 8 of the manual. Kleo is correct. X670e-e was the same as is x870e proart also.
