Goemon's Great Adventure - Kokeshi Road (Looped)

A 10 min. looped version of Kokeshi Road's theme from Goemon's Great Adventure. This is where the difficulty of the game begins to shine, and can throw off those who don't have the skill required to beat sidescrollers decently. Also, the song of this stage is pretty rad.

I've meditated on why this level is so hard in the end. So far I've found that buying rice is the only way to survive this level, as you will be surely crushed by the dolls. Maybe it's symbolic since basically you're entering into the underworld, passing first thru "hell" and then the spirit world in Underworld. So you need to be "dead" first to go thru. But of course, all I've said is just a thought.

+H'Gera Thii you can survive without any healing items. it almost has everything to do with timing. its been a long time since i played this game, but i know for a fact i didnt use any. this game used to kick my ass when i first played it. but since, i've gotten used to it.

+H'Gera Thii The dolls have the narrowest window of survival; jump early on the first and arc it so you can slip just under the opening upper doll - easiest with Sasuke. I dig your interpretation though, considering how treacherous most of Mafu is it definitely fits.

if you have the solid megaphone with ebisumaru you can place platforms inbetween the dolls at the end. well, thats how i did it.

It's hard to "git gud" with 20 years old N64 controllers, along with the slow rendering of the original machine. But yeah, I've done the level without dying or using anything other than timing. Pretty hard to do so, tho, and considering how hellish the level is, I'd rather take the easy way with the rice balls or the megaphone.

The trick is to use Sasuke for quick jumps, Goemon can take too long, thus, ending up being crushed... oh... the memories

Sasuke is amazing for this level. So is Yae, both run fast, and Yae can swim under the level. (Die in the water and revive with a rice ball, you'll usually be invincible. ) And Sasuke can glitch through Star Blocks with well timed jumps.

Whoever programmed this level deserves to burn in Hell. WAY too many cheap deaths. The dolls, the lava, the Kappas. All of it is unforgiving. At least the music's pretty good.
