When I listen to JAMES BROWN, TOWER OF POWER, THE METERS, I CAN EXPECT TO HEAR THE "FUNKIEST" GROOVES known to mankind, When I listen to FOURPLAY I can expect and prepare myself to listen to most of the cuts over & over again and everytime I hear the same tune, I KNOW I'm going to hear something I missed the first, second, third, forth and so on, time around! Great quartet and the orchestra is spot on. In the mid 70's when I was still in the Philippines I bought my very first jazz album. It was Touchdown by Bob James. It had the picture of a football ball and I was bit puzzled what touchdown meant! Fortunately Bob James visited the Philippines either late 70's or very early 80's and I remember that Hubert Laws was with him. Bob's hair may be grayer & thinner but the music still as good as before. And hats off to the audio engineer for the great sound.
