Another thing about Dragonball Super Broly is that the blue form is mastered so they didn’t use too much of their power to maintain the form where as during the Zamasu arc it wasn’t a mastered form yet.

I think one thing to note that people frequently forget is that screen time isn't necessarily one to one with how much time actually passes in universe. It's true that we didn't see Gogeta defuse early against Broly, but in all likelihood that fight was probably very short and he wasn't even using Blue the whole time. Similarly, we don't know how long Vegito Blue stayed fused for exactly, just that it was less than one hour. At the end of the day, it is 30 minutes versus 1 hour and both types of fusions have suffered from timing out early, so Vegito just has more time to burn and would probably outlast Gogeta. That's my view on it anyway.

You make a good point, but with Death Battle they mainly went with what was seen with GT. which I can understand since its really the only time you see him defuse. But we also have to remember that not everything from GT can be trusted since it is Not canon. Again I understand it's their only source to see if his fusion has a power limit but GT isn't canon and with DBS it could have been about 10 minutes but even then after the fight, Gogeta remained fused even long enough to stop Frieza

@@hunterthehybrid3892 Well to be fair, GT isn't the only time we've seen the Metamoran fusion time out early. In the Buu Saga, Gotenks cut his time down to 5 minutes by going SSJ 3. It just seems like neither type of fusion can really handle high level transformations for an extended period of time. It makes sense since neither the Metamorans or the Kais are that strong individually, so their fusion techniques weren't designed in mind for beings as strong as the Saiyans.

@@booshgaming5498 I think the reasoning with Gotenks is that SSJ3 has always been known for putting extreme stress on the body and heavily drains your energy. Plus Gotenks is basically a Kid so having that kind of power in that small of a Fusion could explain that issue. Now it's still the same technique but again if that was the Case, I don't think Gogeta in DBS only lasted 5 minutes considering he went from Base to Super Saiyan and then to Super Saiyan Blue while Broly also became his Full Power Super Saiyan Form. Gogeta spent most of his time in Super Saiyan Blue which is probably Hundreds if not Thousands of times stronger than SSJ3

we cant use ssj3 gotenks as an example. Gotenks could only last 5 minutes because both of the original people didnt know the technique so they ended up defusing because they couldn’t hold it longer. While we have not seen gogeta defuse in cannon material at all due to too much power output. But we have seen vegito defuse from the problem of outputing too much energy at once. So its still a tie between the 2 fusions

​@@complex6355 Hmm, still an assumption. A logical one, but not a fact. About Gotenks. What we DO know, is that too much energy exhaustion will shorten the fusions. Both reguardless of how the drain happens. It happened in Canon with fusion dance, so it's possible. Truth is, we don't know How much power output Gogeta used. To say that every attack he used was on par with the energy output of a Final Kamehameha type move which was supposed to be a finishing move is a stretch. It looks powerful because of the artistic theatrics of the movie. But those weren't finishing moves except the last Kamehameha he was gonna use until Broly vanished. Those other attacks were powerful enough to stun Broly who Gogeta was already WAAY stronger than, due to the fact that he utterly started annihilating Broly right after he turned Blue(which he coulda done from the beginning). Vegito and Zamasu were about neck and neck power wise. So Vegito couldn't afford to hold back much. He had to use A LOT of his power. Also Zamasu had the insane durability on his side. Zamasu wasn't a cakewalk like Buu was.

To add on in the Broly movie, when Vegeta and Goku fused into Gogeta they both knew about the defusion of Vegito back in the future Trunks arc. So they had that knowledge so they knew Gogeta had a chance of defusing so they definitely had to take it easy.

The other half of the talk is that Vegito used Kaioken to raise his power level of the final kamehameha at the end there while Gogeta tried to use Blue Evolution which does give a very high power boost but not as quickly as Kaioken

The only reason that Gogeta Blue was able to stay fused for so long in the movie is because he massively outclassed Broly as soon as he transformed. As a result, he could better preserve his fusion time due to not needing to power up any further. However, when Vegito Blue goes to fight Merged Zamasu he is unable to stay fused for very long mostly due to Zamasu’s immortality. This forced Vegito to exert a large amount of power in order to try and overwhelm Zamasu’s regeneration, which ultimately fails as a result of Zamasu’s immortality dragging out the fight. Overall, Vegito was definitely up against greater odds in comparison to Gogeta who simply had the more powerful transformation in his fight with Broly.

Honestly speaking, I feel like the problem is about Energy Drain. When the energy runs out, the users defuse. Vegetto used more energy than Gogeta, causing him to defuse prematurely in contrast to Gogeta who was still fused. Not only that, but it's reasonable to think that Goku and Vegeta became better users of the Blue form from the Black Arc to the Broly Movie. To me, it's not about too much power, but instead too much energy waste.

Hello Nano, just to mention that we have to remember that these characters fight in speeds that are impossible to track so for us on screen the Gogeta Vs. Broly fight lasted around 8 minutes, but the fact that these guys can fight and do so many moves in less time means that in movie it's 8 minutes but all that fighting could have happened in way less time, at least enough time to have Cheelai and Lemu watch enough and see Broly losing then do the whole Dragon Ball wish moment, plus Gogeta also recognized Broly to be super tough and needed to end the fight fast before his fusion runs out which it why he attacked so aggressively after going Blue on Broly. P.s. Thanks for not being angry on the ending, a lot of people have to realize that's it's just a video of a non biased result. But Gogeta do got the better moves tho.

No it doesnt, thats a common misconception in DB fandom. The Old Kai never stated the Potara earrings gives them that boost it works the other way around heres his quote *“Idiot, it’s BECAUSE IT WAS THOSE TWO that they were able to go so far (As a fusion). Two of the top 3 masters in both the living world and afterlife have MERGED, after all. What’s more, two rivals have joined together. That’s definitely strongest.”* It is because that Goku and Vegeta fused as Rivals that Vegito is as powerful as he is. So when they merge as one they get that boost, so this happens with Fusion dance as well because its merging both Saiyan Rivals together.

I do like Gogeta's design more than Vegito, but I have always believed Vegito is stronger, for the reasons stated in the video, but also I did notice that Vegito had more signature moves rather than combined abilities than old Gogeta, it's only recently that Gogeta, Blue specifically that he started showing his own moves like star dust fall and meteor burst. Gogeta blue does have a time limit in the Broly movie because it is mentioned before when they made a mistake fusing, they had to wait 30mins each so Broly was fighting Frieza for about an hour. The fight with Broly was less than 30mins. However, it is surprising that he didn't defuse like in the case of Vegito blue when they both used a lot of power. In that case, I can only think of two reasons, firstly Gogeta was in a movie vs Vegito appearance in an anime episode, so the movie showed off more, the second is that ultimately the ending was better with Trunks beating Zamasu (Fused) rather than Vegito.

When it comes to design I prefer Vegito’s way more considering the fact that the outfit is always a combination between both individuals in a potara fusion. In a fusion dance the clothing is almost exactly the same (in the canon continuity that is). I mean Gotenks and Gogeta wear almost the exact same outfit with some minor differences and I personally prefer something that is more unique.

They are equal. If you have to choose, Vegito has a few more statements for him over Gogeta. The rival boost, as well as the lack of powering down to match your partner are small factors. Both have unfused prior to their wanted time limit. But its incredibly clear the writers intend for the fusions to not be overused, and to be equals of each other. Maybe Vegito should be stronger since he requires potara, but it just makes Gogeta more practical in every situation.

It all has to do with context, Gogeta was overpowering Broly regardless so he didn't need to over exert himself as much, in Vegito's fight with Zamasu, not only were they evenly matched but Vegito overtaxed his power by trying to overpower Zamasu's regeneration to completely vaporize him under the pretence that vaporizing him would work, leading to him defusing earlier than intended while Gogeta wasn't even taking Broly seriously after he turned SSJB So as it stands right now, they are practically evenly matched and the fight could go either way or even end in a tie

Also I really prefer Gogeta over Vegito but when I was watching it for the first time I really didn't care who would win, the fight was epic that I lost myself in it. Pretty sure the reason that Gogeta stayed blue so long is that they weren’t putting stress on anything other than their bodies in Blue at that point, and they had practically mastered that at the time. SS4 was a little more recent for the Vegeta half, so that might be why. Besides, the earrings can be broken by too much power, like we’ve seen. If Gogeta was able to make Vegito exert his power too much, that might have also broken the earrings.

Had this same thought, though, my mindset back on the Vegito stat preview video DB had posted a while ago was slightly biased toward Gogeta winning (since I knew they'd pull from all sources, one way or the other). TLDR; Time Limit is still the major factor in everything between these two power houses. But, to put it simply: Gogeta didn't even take 30 full minutes to fight a mindless and rage filled Broly in that movie (Literally felt like that fight was a good 10 minutes at most, and they didn't even defuse when going SSJB). Where we've seen the fight with Fused Zamasu (and that one did take nearly 10 to 15 minutes in length, which, they over used their power on the Potaras, sadly...). Time limit plays a factor, sure, but Power Levels play a slight factor here too. In my honest opinion (and unbiased toward both Fusions), Gogeta, would probably have an easier time going from the Power limit from 0 to 100 real quick and not use up his time that fast (Gotenks comes to mind when we see him use SSJ3, and that SHOULD have eaten up his time too, which, it didn't...and that's still Canon until otherwise said or stated), and basically have this fight in the bag, he'd probably also know how to fight Vegito well, since, they're still relatively the same person in some regards. Vegito doing the same, though, they probably would go all out right off the bat with no Power Limit from the Potaras if they went SSJBSS right at the get go. Granted, don't see that happening real quick. So, do I think Vegito or Gogeta in some regards should have won in any regard to DB standards? Probably by a margin on which one had the upper hand (and I'll agree with that assessment). There still are the multiple factors involved (could they use Ultra Ego/Instinct if they fuse? Could they be both have just had a clean fight without going all out and using their full power like in DB: Hero? Probably so many factors involved that could come down to one option, and that's the Time limit. Regardless of which one wins in brute strength, the Time limit is still the factor here. 30 minutes vs an Hour? Yeah I'd probably agree that Gogeta would've been the stronger of the two since Gogeta (Blue) takes place a long time after Vegito (Blue) so that would mean that Goku and Vegeta would've been training longer than they did for the Future Arc. And that doesn't even account for the fact that both Goku and Vegeta pushed past their limits multiple times during the tournament of power which is after Vegito and right before Gogeta.

The whole problem is that fusion (as a whole concept) is wildly inconsistent. You got the instances early on of characters defusing at levels of SSJ3 Gotenks, but later on with literal godly power, or even just base super saiyan power that far outclasses what we previous saw, the fusions seem to last just fine. Whether it's the earrings or the dance, there really isn't a consistent 'rule set' that we can look at to answer the question definitively until Toriyama gives us one.

They said on Twitter that BOTH Vegito and Gogeta were post DBS Broly to avoid confusion. That way it wasn’t Zamasu Arc Vegito vs DBS Broly Gogeta. They even said that the defusing wasn’t the decisive factor as BOTH fighters have instances of toying brashly with their food and instances of being serious.

I think this death battle was incredibly well done, and as a vegito believer i'm happy he won, but theres only really 2 things i want to point out: 1: Like everyone's saying, there's no reason gogeta should be using soul punisher on vegito as a finisher, since it will basically be useless 2: Something that I actually have not seen anyone mention: The beam clash between ssj4 gogeta and blue vegito should have been a one sided victory on vegito's part for 2 factors: 1: (up for debate) SSB is undoubtedbly a much stronger transformation than SS4 2: Final kamehameha should be inherently stronger than big bank kamehameha, since one is final flash + kamehameha and the other is big bang + kamehameha, so the deciding factor in which one is stronger is the variable, which is final flash or big bang attack, and vegeta himself said that final flash is his strongest attack, so final kamehameha should be more powerful than big bang kamehameha.

soul punisher wasn't useless, alot of people keep thinking that soul punisher is a move that vanishes all evil from someone, but remember, fusion reborn isn't canon. soul punisher might aswell just be a powerful attack concentrated in a single ki ball, because when gogeta used the move on broly he was clearly damaged by the move

At the end of the day Goku finally got a dub in Death Battle despite being fused obviously. Just wanted to add my two cents. 1. The dance needs to be equal power, while the earrings simply take the users at their peak current strength, fuses them, and then multiplies on top of that, regardless of whether or not the two fusees have been worn out. And 2. I believe that in the manga, the Supreme Kai stated that Vegito’s power was greater than Beerus’ right before he defused

2 things to say: 1. Its kinda hard to tell which Fusion is stronger since they're using roughly the same timeline Goku and Vegeta. Technically if they used the potara in the Broly fight, we'd probably get same result. Its hard to tell. 2. Its better to think about the Fusions like this: goku has a 150 power level and Vegeta has a 100 power level. The Fusion dance needs Goku to lower his 150 to Vegeta's 100. In the process, Gogeta has a 200 Power Level. Meanwhile the Potara don't need that stipulation and combines both total power levels, and gives Vegito 250. Its actually fun to remember canon and think about it.

It should be simple, if you're using the same version of Goku and Vegeta then Vegito should be stronger by the fact that one person doesn't have to weaken themself and it is stated that the Potarra fusion is a stronger fusion technique. Time limit really shouldn't matter for several reasons and for the sake of consistency.

My only issue is that Stardust Breaker in Fusion Reborn was meant to destroy all evil but that was retconned in DBS Broly and was just a normal ki attack. It was even said they put the attack in as fan service. Goku noted much earlier in the film that Broly wasn’t evil so it makes no sense that Gogeta would use an attack that would have no affect on his opponent. In reality new canon, the attack absolutely would have affected Vegito considerably since it affected Broly.

I'd say if Gogeta didn't waste his time using that soul punisher he would have got Vegito because he was tanking that final kamehameha. And it might have ended in a tie or he would have won.

I was satisfied with the outcome. But to bring up your comment about the gogeta vs broly fight you have to think about at what speeds they were fighting at. It's slowed down for us to see so they could have literally been fighting for like 5 minutes or less!

Vegito was always stronger. They are only trying to retcon now because making Gogeta canon had more money potential honestly. Potara modifier was always superior. The potara were always the more powerful fusion and required no setup or strategy.

Vegeta used the final explosion, was supposedly depleted but then after he went Evolution, also we see goku using Kaioken multiple times throughout and he did get any physical strain from it) and gogeta took his time, base to super saiyan to blue unlike Vegito who immediately went blue along with the fact that time in dragon ball is weird and inconsistent

What a lot of people seem to forget is that Gogeta always appears later in the timeline than Vegito, at which point both Vegeta and Goku are more powerful, so ofcourse that's Gogeta is always deemed stronger. Not to mention the different personality traits where Vegito likes to have fun but Gogeta mostly (Excluding some instances in GT and Broly) wants to get the job done

Goegta's time limit in DBS Broly is irrelevant since we don't know how long they were fused for and in the manga Vegito's time limit lasted for 40 minutes against Fused Zamasu despite going blue right from the start. So even if we give Blue Gogeta the full 30 minutes he would still defuse before Vegito.

To everyone talking about the Rivalry Boost as that gives one the edge over the other. Notice Kaioshin never states that the Potara itself gives the boost its the Two individuals *“Idiot, it's because it was THOSE TWO that THEY were able to go so far. TWO of the top 3 masters in both the living world and afterlife have MERGED, after all. What’s more, TWO RIVALS have joined together. That’s definitely strongest.”* What this means is as long as they are rivals they recieve a boost while merged, both Potara and Fusion Dance are Mergers.

Small drop in here but conceptual Arc I wouldve liked to have seen in DBS eventually course came up with it myself, But Ill try to keep it short... Basically after Black cut a rift in sky and bunch of copies flew out and as they distracted Heroes the Real Black escaped into the rift, A rift in time and space, Black cuts his way back into the Universe in the future, Black lays low devizes a plan, He watches Goku and Vegeta over weeks and months, Eventually finds perfect window to catch Vegeta training alone, Posing as Goku he drops in and mentions training together, Vegeta naturally refuses but Black talks him into it “Never know when we may need to tag together in a fight” After few Black goes for it “Hey we should take this time to try and train as Vegito!! Last time we could barely get enough time in before we defused...” Vegeta course naturally “I utterly despise fusing with you Kakarot why would I do it when we dont need to!?” Black talks him into it... “Tsk! Fine!! Just shut up n throw it here!!” The second Vegeta puts on that Potora things get ugly, Course second they fuse Vegeta can tell it wasnt Kakarot but instead Black, But little does he realize Black really being a deity the fusion is permanent long as Potora are on, Black takes over, Locking Vegeta away in an indefinite fusion, One less hero to get in his way, Goku and others, Orange Piccolo, Beast Gohan, Potentially SSB Broly, Everyone has to work together to take this monster down without killing him, They need to destroy or remove the Potora through force, Little do they know this isnt any typical Vegito, Ultra Ego combined with Rosé gives birth to a new nightmare, Ultra Violet Violent Vegito!! A monster so incredibly strong and only gets stronger from damage taken or sustained, Fact they cant kill him without they themselves dying all makes up for quite an interesting Arc if I do say so myself!!

In terms of vegeta and goku's power difference, it really only shows in forms like Ultra ego or Instinct, but in there base form Vegeta just barely has the edge; the difference is so incredibly small. Also neither fusion has the transformation so the only way there's a power difference is the actual fusion it self. wither the dance or ear rings give a boost and its not just goku and vegeta's powers combined. which I don't know if that's the case at least not for the ear rings

i would like to point out that in the vegito vs zamasu fight, vegito said "this ends now" which implies he was going all out on this attack against zamasu unfortunately he used up to much power which resulted in vegito defusing if he didn't I believe he would of had a longer fight.
