Amazing explanation! Had seen the image on discord and been trying to understand the Reality Chip and Divining Top draw loop, completely forgetting about the clue tokens Gadgeteer creates! Thanks for the breakdown :)

this is what we needed!! I'm gonna have to stop being stubborn and add more creatures then just hull breaker and tidespout, the only problem with this is do we cut proteus staff and polymorph? I'm so used to going for that bounce line with the boys, I'm afraid of adding anymore creatures, although metamorph and this card would be an amazing add, along with reality chip. GREAT JOB!! 💙

Yeah Poly and Staff only make sense in a dedicated list that plays no other creatures.

pili-pala is one of the funnest combo cards in malcolm kediss in pauper. all you have to is to give pili pala a way to tap for damage and the creature type of pirate. from there you tap to deal damage you get one treasure through malcolm and if you have at least one more mana avaialble you start the infinite combo by untapping and retapping pili pala till everyone is deck. god i love pili pala so much. and i doubt they will give us your wish. this creature is going to break so many stuff the moment they spoil it. i don't even know what but an infinity combo that doesn't use the stack is probably way too strong. i could be wrong. god i hope i am wrong. i want the stronger pili pala

Im very sad that this card just barely doesnt make it into jhoira, but i used to run urza in the deck so im also excited for anything that support urza. i might even assemble urza for a while since as a year long jhoira player i might have 90% of the cards anyway.

Great vid as always :) curious about the details about the combo with pili pala notnusing the stack. I tried searching about mana abilities not using the stack and got mixed results before or maybe I am just remembering wrong haha I may be confusing this with having priority for tapping for mana (but wouldnt there be no need for priority if t It does not use the stack?)

You need priority to take game actions, this includes tapping permanents for mana, however as mana abilities do not use the stack it means that priority will never go to your opponents unless you actively pass priority OR after you have activated Urzas last ability and are waiting for the ability to resolve. so you get infinite mana and you start activating Urza. When any opponent tries to interact with you, you can just activate Urza ontop of any kind of interaction until you find a counterspell as you already have infinite mana :D

I just rebuilt urza, but its the polymorph style. Is gadgeteer worth switching from polymorph?

I've always been more of a UPS player myself, but these new additions make it really hard for me to justify Poly at this point

Is this a reason to play drift of phantasm on urza? its a tutor for gadgeteer, basalt or rings too... also tutors for some stax pieces like trinisphere and one of the staxy orbs

We've actually added Drift to the Primer list to get some more consistency with our gameplan. The best tutor target imo is probably Rhystic Study, but grabbing a combo piece or stax piece is also an option. We're not 100% sure on it yet, but as of now it is in.
