I worked the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and made sure I had the night off for the Go-Go's concert and perfect seats in the amphitheater. The show was amazing, and no one had any idea that the band was falling apart. The place went crazy in response to the delivery of quality sound and all the dance moves and antics we hoped to see in person, and the girls enjoyed themselves together as much as we enjoyed them. That night remains one of my favorite concerts of all time. So. Much. FUN!!!

I believe that amphitheatre was right on the river so it would have been cool if they sang old black water or rolling on the river or something.

I was there too & they doubled bill with INXS. '84 was an amazing year for concert tours. Culture Club, New Order, U2, The Smiths, Depeche Mode & even that little girl Madonna...................................& on & on & on. Tickets for $20-$25, AMAZING!!! Best year of music for that decade. Ticket prices these day are totally unworthy of any artist. Sorry.

They definitely deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. They were the first all girl group to write and play there own music to have a number one hit, Ground breaking. Belinda is the best female lead vocalist of all time and the drummer was real good. Just a bunch of talented women.

I used to sneak into my sister’s record collection and borrow their Go Go’s records. I had a crush on all of them. To me they were all beautiful.

The lead singer of a band should not be allowed to use her voice on a solo career without paying royalties to the Band she left. The lead singers voice is unique to the band while instruments are easily reproduced the drummer has no chance at a solo career. Belinda would be nothing without the song writers, I love her voice but she should do the right thing and split the royalties with the other Go Go members from her solo albums. The other go go members made Belinda what she is today and she should repay them.

All these ladies look remarkably well preserved. Charlotte looks and sounds great for someone who was such a serious druggie (compare to Ozzy Osbourne who sounds like a...well, brain-fried moron sometimes), Belinda Carlisle looks more stunning now than she did as a cute but chubby youngster, and Jane Wiedlin somehow does not age. At all. I don't know how it's possible. Men are always saying Susanna Hoffs doesn't age. While she looks good for 50, she does look old. Jane doesn't. Just wow.
