Wow, you won another subscriber. My 3 1/2 male husky kept leaving hair all over the house and car. A vet kept telling me to get the furminator, deshedding rake and an undercoat rake brush. Me not knowing I went and tried them. Whoa I felt like a pro then my Riley would not let me even comb him. I guess it was bothering him. I saw this video on Thursday and tried your method and let me say I’m so glad that I mistakenly got this video because Riley is running around and seems like he loved it. He’s not scratching or biting his sides and lets me brush him now. Thanks so much for taking your time and showing this video. I’m definitely subscribing to your channel and watching the videos to see if I get more technics. Again thanks so much and Riley also says thank you. Blessings

@@GoGroomerthe way you showed in the video worked perfectly. He’s happy and not scared anymore. Now I have to find a way to get him to let me do his nails. He was getting them done monthly from an at early age until he turned 1yr. Then all the groomers stopped because of the pandemic shutdown. So when I took him about a year later he’s not letting anyone cut them. He’s not wanted in Petsmart or Petco and the only way to get them cut is with a muzzle, I hold him while the vet cuts them. He gives up a fight and I don’t know why. There was never an accident or anything close to it. I know it was the time he didn’t get them done. Thanks so much for your reply. You’re the best.

Huskies coat should never be shaved. They don’t have melamine on their skin and their coats are what protects them from UV sun exposure, also low temperatures
@juliemcgugan1244 Жыл бұрын
@@sharapova02 Plus, their coat is biologically designed to channel heat away from the skin. When you shave them, the hair does not sit the same way anymore and the heat gets trapped right next to the skin. You are actually inhibiting their ability to effectively thermo-regulate, if you shave them. And you could damage their skin and coat irreparably, by doing so!

I’m pleased to say my grooming methods are exactly the same as your’s dear Aimee-Leigh. I am forever telling my customers that all they need is a good quality brush and a good quality metal comb. And so many people are surprised that I do all of my brushing well. The shampoo is in the house, but what they don’t realise is that the shampoo makes the hair heavier and that also assist with it coming out . This time, if Graham is my favourite to do, it is so satisfying to see those before and Afters. Hi from Australia. Definitely going to invest in the prima unit if we can get them here in Australia

Hi! I was brushing my dog with a “deshedder” tool and thought there must be a better way and Stumbled upon your video. My fiancé and I are going to take our dog on an adventure to get some dog conditioner tonight and getting a new wash brush for him. Our neighborhood has a dog washing station that we use, with a pressure dryer, so we won’t be able to use the fancy shampoo machine, but I suppose a bucket with some shampoo and getting it all sudsy before (in addition to a human scalp brush) will be good for getting the shampoo in there correctly! I’ll report back after we wash how well it works for the big boy. We’ve got two dogs but we’re gonna try one dog at a time since it can sometimes be a handful with one of them screaming (even once she’s done being washed)
@GoGroomer5 ай бұрын
You are doing everything right! I’m so excited to hear your results!

So time for the update! Waited to get both dogs done before replying. So the big boy had SO MUCH HAIR in the bathing station. He still sheds a ton but following this procedure got a pile about as big as a softball once condensed out of him and off of our floors. A couple times should help. The little dog (who doesn’t shed nearly as much) had a much smaller clump in the hair. But my fiancé and I were so happy to have a lot less hair in our condo from the big boy. Every clump that came out was a comment on “that’s not gonna be at home.” I can’t wait to continue doing this process and help getting the big dog as deshedded as possible and save time on cleaning our couch covers.

So if we don't have a Prima system, are we to apply shampoo the dog first using a loofa before getting the dog wet with a rinse?
@janellelowrance48803 жыл бұрын
First, brush your dog, then in the tub to get wet, and then apply the diluted shampoo with the lace scrubby you can get at the dollar store. Massage the shampoo all over and then rinse. Rinse until the water is clear. Then apply the diluted conditioner and let it sit on your dog for 4-5 minutes. ( This is a good time to gently remove any mats. I say gently because their skin is tender when wet). I learned all this from Amy. Amy has a Facebook page you can join called go groomer Amy Leigh’s private Facebook page. Also many videos. There is a lot of groomers ready to help you with anything. I hope this helps you.

How do you protect the animals eyes when shampooing and conditioning?
@jessicanagenrauft8867 Жыл бұрын
Hey 😊 I do like the combing while wet and shampooed and conditioned method and definitly want to try it. Im a bernese mountain dog owner and not a Professional groomer but im a lisenced hairdresser from Germany. Thats why I generally like this method since im doing the same on peoples hair. Comb it while the Conditioner sits in. But I do have a question and would appreciate your opinion on this. So im generelly speaking not a big fan of bathing dogs. I do bath my dog only if there is no way around it for me for example if He decided to rub himself p in s*hit or dead bodies. Which happens like 2 times a year at most. The reason I dont like bathing dogs is that as I hairdresser i know that the healthiest thing for skin and hair is to not wash the hair at all with shampoo since it is removing natural oils and irritates and drys out the skin. Yes if you wash you should use a Conditioner to retreat the skin and this makes it better. But it is still a bit irritating for humans, and I would think this counts for dogs as well, to not wash the hair with shampoo is the most natural and healthiest thing to do. Yes of course I do wash my hair and the hair of my clients but I make sure to cut that down to the least amount possible. (I do have some friends who only wash their hair with water and believe it or not that hair is not dirty at all and their skin is really healthy). Since a dog is a dog and I think Washing them and use All these "good" smelling products seems pretty unnatural to me I do what I do and only wash my dog if theres no way around it. Thats also an issue that I have with using shampoo isnt the smell pretty strong for our dogs noses, my dog rubs him All over the ground when he gets washed and I read it's because of the strong smell of Shampoos. And I dont even mean strong parfumed ones it's just that our dogs noses work 5000 Times better So my questions are: 1st what do you think of that topic? 2nd you said in another Video that you only brush dogs out when washed and Conditioned and to not use all these diffrent marketed Tools on dry hair since you recognized that this leads to even more shedding. Is there a way I still could brush my dog regulary on dry hair without causing more shedding or do you think I should just wash my dog more feequently I really hope to get an answer much love from Germany and I hope everything I wrote Was understandable

Great question! I made the video linked below several years ago, but it’s such a good video. In that video, I discuss the purpose of the undercoat and how it filters dirt and grime away from the skin and regulates the dogs body temperature. But also how it’s important to clean the undercoat and why. Watch that video first and then watch the next video I linked which discusses the importance of shampooing and conditioning.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGbRmn-he6iYoZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWi4qoyHpZmCgJo

Getting ready to deshed my wooly husky. Would you do anything differently for a wooly husky coat as she does not have clumps of hair like Kimber? Any tips to help a dog that is scared of the force dryer? I bought one but she runs away. Thanks.

Is the “tug brush” simply a slicker brush but just another name for it? Or is it a different kind of brush? I just rescued a stray border collie and I’ve never owned a double layered dog before, so I really wanna make sure I get the right brushes and take care of her fur properly. ❤
