To answer some of your questions in the video: 1.) Messi scored 91 goals in 69 games in a single season, he beat the record of a german player in the 1970's who scored 85 goals in a calendar season. 2.) The leagues in Europe work completely opposite of how it works in America, where each country have its own league and teams as well as having a point system to determine who becomes champion and who gets relegated (kicked out of the league, watch more videos on the internet to learn more about it) 3.) Winning six trophies in a year is really phenomenal because in a season you are eligible to win the league, league cup and european cup, there are also other tournaments but you have to win other tournaments in order to qualify. Winning 1 trophy means you are good, 2 means you have a good squad with depth, 3 means you are the best team in the world and anymore means you are the best of all time. 4.) The World cup is separate from club football, because there you play for your country instead. Usually in this video you see Messi play for FC Barcelona, which is a club in the Spanish league. But he was born in Argentina, so that's the country/team he plays for in the World Cup. It's kinda like if Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls, but also Team USA. But unlike Basketball, winning the World Cup for your country is much more presigious in football, because it's so difficult, and the World Cup is only once every 4 years. And Messi finally won it this year.

The debate was always close, they've won similar amounts of things individually and in their teams. Their stats are somewhat similar, especially in goal scoring. Usually it's like the domestic league title, the big champions leagues title (top teams across Europe) and a bunch of tournaments style cups ranging from old traditional ones that are valued more, to more recent, more commercial driven/more games for viewers to watch. So for them to win 6 basically they won everything they could win which is very rare

This video is quite old now so I don't know if you'll see this but; the reason the goalkeeper looks "mesmerized" or bad is because messi shoots it in the exact place where it's very hard to dive. First of all, the ball is going much faster than it looks from above or behind compared to when it's going straight towards you but more importantly he places it equally hard as if he was smashing it into the air, but on the ground about 1.5 feet next to the goalkeeper. That means he doesn't have time to stretch out his leg to reach it and he doesn't have time to fall to the ground and catch it since he's not stretching his arms for the ball (it's faster to move your arms than let your chest fall on the ball) and his chest is the only part of the body that can block it (when laying down). It's his specialty for shooting.

To confirm the World Cup is a competition of national teams Eg England, Germany, Argentina, Brazil playing eachother in knockout football which happens every 4 years. Each country has their own league full of club teams that play on average 30-40 games a season so Spain has a league of 20 Spanish teams eg Barcelona Madrid and would all play eachother twice home and away, UK would have 20 teams like chelsea and Manchester United. There are also club competitions in between like champions league where different clubs from other countries play eachother like tonight Chelsea are playing Real Madrid in knockout tournament. Btw a lot of the big games are on ESPN+ so that’s an easy way to catch some games if you already have that subscription, so football is way more accessible in the US than you may realize(as an American myself, ESPN+, and paramount + are the only services I use, and occasionally Hulu live for Premier league & USA games) But yes football is not on national TV a lot, but really that’s just the US being stupid(like you said you’ll see college lacrosse or track more than football)

There are multiple competitions that run during one season.... So the season refers to the national league in each country, they then have a league cup competition and a football association cup competition in each country during the season. The top teams from each league from last season will also be playing european competitions, like the champions league or the uefa cup. So during the course of one season, there are opportunities to win multiple trophies and titles.

Don’t get me wrong Ronaldo is a fantastic player and in any other era he would definitely be a 🐐, however he had the misfortune to play in the same era as Messi 😂 The main difference is Ronaldo is a pure goal scorer who pulls of feats of incredible skill and power. Messi is a player who can literally do everything from goal scoring, assists, dribbling, playmaking, unreal ball control; he’s an alien 👽 Also I really like Messi as he doesn’t go down without one hell of a reason unlike a hell of a lot of other players. As you are a newbie you should check out some videos regarding the rules and competitions of European football, such as European football explained for Americans as well as some videos about other players, such as Zlatan Ibrahimović, Pele, Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Junior, Johan Cruyff, and of course, obviously more Messi 😉🐐❤️ Also it may be different for you as you are in America but I can watch entire football games on KZbin (old Barcelona games at least), I just typed in Barcelona full games and there they were 😉

There are both regional leagues like the NFL and there are also cross country tournaments like the Champions League, which is all across Europe. There’s also international tournaments where you play for your country instead of your club. That is why he said they were able to win 6 titles in one season. You don’t only compete in the regional league the way NBA teams only play in the NBA. You play in 1 league and about 2 or more other tournaments depending on how good your team is, giving you multiple opportunities to win trophies. Personally I think more tournaments adds higher stakes to the games and makes them more entertaining.

So he played for FCB, they play Spain's leagues with clubs within Spain. Then they also play games against other clubs in Europe, those are the international leagues for clubs. But since he is born Argentinean, he plays for the Argentina's national team, competing in America, against countries within America, and also plays in Fifa's Wolrd Cup, which means every national team from 5 continents qualify to represent their country to win the WC. Ronaldo played in Real Madrid, so they played against each other in Spains leagues and European leags, at clubs level. And Messi plays for Argentina, Ronaldo for Portugal, since he was born there.

Then there’s tournaments which the best teams from each league in each country participate in, they’re called Champions League and Europa League. Good question, how they won six tittles in one year? First to get to compete for six tittles you have to win your national competition. Then you qualify for all the European competitions, then the world teams competition. I don’t know if anyone had explained to you about the titles but football teams play in their home league as well as multiple tournaments in the same season. Some tournaments creep into the off season but its mainly during the season so they end up playing a game once or twice a week. Its rare but sometimes 3 games

Goat for Messi v Ronaldo is tough. Im a die hard messi fan, he is the reason I play football but Ronaldo was a machine man. You always expected a goal which Messi doesn’t always deliver but no one and I mean no one can control the game and mentality of the opposition teams like messi. Watch games that he came in as a substitute especially when his team is losing and just be amazed at how his opponents crumble in fear of his potential. At the end of the day im okay with people picking either coz I respect them both and believe the conversation should stay this way because their rivalry made Spanish football and the El Classico more famous than Christmas where im from😂😂.
