This advice is really helpful especially to not burn out yourself but I have another opinion on this too. If you genuinely are passionate about and want to pursue more than 4 activities, go ahead with it! Where there is a will, there is a way. If you're determined you can balance out everything. Yes it's difficult but it's possible. But the important thing is to be truly passionate and want to do so many things.
@danielmuddasani21942 жыл бұрын
Wait umm, so I have a question.. Are you even like required to take on activities? Bc I'm in my 4th year of high school and I never even participated in anything.. Also it may be because what you guys are talking about is a program in the US or something..
@irajainijworld72912 жыл бұрын

@@irajainijworld7291 But like if you take on sports or something of the same kind, won't that like just waste your time because it it's really helping you out in any studies?
@cr4zy_cycl0n32 жыл бұрын
@@danielmuddasani2194 in the US, extracurriculars in general will look very good to colleges. It doesn’t have to be related to schoolwork. If it’s 2 years of playing on the basketball team, it’ll look as good as 2 years in debate. Some colleges will actually be more impressed by sports since they want athletes or whatever in their school. Some will like debate in your extracurriculars more. Honestly, I’d say it depends on the college, but all extracurriculars look good nonetheless Also grades ARE important but colleges care just as much about you as a person, which is why college essays are so important. Studies aren’t everything
@irajainijworld72912 жыл бұрын
@@danielmuddasani2194 in my opinion, sports are just important as studies. Everything you try out adds to your personality and experience and so it's nice to have a good exposure. Also if sports isn't your thing there are so many skills like music, art, coding, chess etc that indirectly help you with studies too! The idea is to have hobbies and passions other than just studying. Your personality is so much enhanced because of these

I never joined any clubs nor activities yet I still got into a fairly decent college. You just need a fair GPA and make sure your SAT isn't too trashy. Get good recommendation letters from your favorite teachers and you're all good to go. Once you're out of HS never look back and keep pushing forward.

Honestly I went into high school with this mentality. Freshman year I was in Marching Band, XC, Baseball, Ping Pong club, and Jazz band. Sophomore year I still had MB, XC, and JB, but picked up the pit for the musical, and instead of baseball I did track. This year Im still in XC, MB, Track, and Jazz band, but I plan on going back to ping pong, I can’t do pit due to instrumentation, and I started going to finance club. So don’t be afraid to switch things around. In all honesty I probably forgot some things. But the reason I choose the things I choose for Junior year was because those are the things I thought were fun the last two years. In both XC, MB and even track I’ve taken up leadership roles in those programs. If you can alway go for leadership, but that doesn’t mean for every club I’m going to have a leadership role. And that’s okay. TLDR: I had a small rant
