The minor mistakes of "Hey boss, it's Pim here now" is what I value in acting. He knows your voice, you don't need to announce who you are, just talk. It's just something you do when you don't know someone all that well, and also overestimating how confusing it is talking to 4 people on the phone. One of my favorite movies is Grave of the Fireflies, and it's because the movie is filled with these moments of unnecessary information that make the situations feel naturally occuring. The scene in the beginning where the sister is asking for her doll while the brother is struggling to find it, not noticing his sister pointing directly at it since he's looking so hard elsewhere is one of those situations that has unnecessary hang-ups that add so much liveliness and believablility to the acting. It's not too hard to add either. When characters in movies never misspeak or have very direct, and especially dramatic, answers then it sucks me out of it super quickly. It just feels all orchestrated and contrived, and it usually spoils what happens because there's always a logical leap for what's next, because you know that any information given to you is pertinent to the plot, and isn't just details added for conversation between the characters.
