Jim Ray called me years ago. I hope he’s still around. He payed $800 for Doug to cut two songs. My grandpa Bob Played lead guitar for Doug at the Hilo before he played there for Del Shannon. My grandpa introduced Del to Doug. Del came to the Hilo to watch grandpa play with the Midnight Ramblers at the Hilo then they all hit it off. Doug came to my grandpas to jam for years after Hilo. I have a picture of grandpa hanging at the side of the stage enjoy a beer between sets with a young Doug.
