This is the second part of my Maine trip, where we head up into the wilderness of Northern Maine, known as Aroostook county. This video was captured during the same week as my Fort Kent Community High School class of 1993 reunion. I've dedicated this video to all of my childhood friends of Northern Maine. No one will ever appreciate what it's like growing up in this wilderness - except those who have done so.
I hope you enjoy the scenery and maybe one day decide to visit Northern Maine yourself, some day.

just watched this one. I want to thank you for being back so many good memories of going to see my grandparents in Eagle Lake. My mom grew up with the lake for her back yard. Dad grew up in Winterville. Thank you again

I had a good chuckle with your warning that Bangor wasn't Northern Maine!! It was wonderful to see all of the green that is Maine!! I have expected to see a moose in the woods but it's probably too trafficked for them! Hhope you got your fill of yummy seafood and the best blueberry pie ever!!! You made me feel homesick for Maine!! Thank you Ryan!!

As a true New Englander, Maine is my favorite. I had a cabin there back in the 90's, so sorry I sold it. Hope to be back there again. Southern New England doesn't suit me. I have Swedish ancestors in New Sweden and Stockholm, Maine. Great video, thank you.

Thanks for the video! I lived in Florida for 40+ years and sold my house and moved to mid coast Maine in November 2023. I am in the process of buying a house in Caribou and close in 4 weeks. I wasn't really considering moving to "the county" but my real estate agent dragged me up there and I'm glad she did!

not a lot of jobs but tons of work if you can swing a hammer and bring your tools. I live in Island falls, 12 miles north of Sherman on the video, been here 4 yrs. We bought a house for $49K and retired here from Boston.

I hate to tell you that you have the hotel wrong. They stayed up on the other side of the Maine mall.

And I grew up in Ashland but moved to Bangor in 89

Yeah, Bangor isn't moving far enough to fully lose the accent over the years. It's definitely not as strong as Northern Maine but it's still there. :) That's so cool that you're from Ashland - I drove through Ashland so often driving up home from college. For me Ashland was kind of the point where I started feeling like I was finally at least close to home during the drive.

Ryan you don’t have a accent like everyone else from up there

Me, there - I use to have that accent, there. Wayaa-waay, do ya really tink ya don't lose your accent when you leave a place? Coddin. :) And if you don't understand my sentence above then you aren't from there. :) It used to be SO bad! Until I left for college and then over the years being away it faded. Jen used to say I seemed to revert back to it whenever we went home and I hung out a while with my old friends.
