I have been lucky enough to travel all over this great nation of ours. Back in the 80's I stayed with an Amish family for a few weeks. I have always believed, if there is something you want to learn then find the best at it and learn from them. I truly believe the Amish are the smartest people we have. We can all learn from them and use that knowledge to make our lives and communities better.

My husband and I hope to visit your area of the country someday. It's a bucket list thing. I would say you are most likely right about the "cheaper or fresher". We live in such a rural community here. There are very few choices, so we usually choose bulk at the Amish store, because our little stores don't have the selection they do. For me that is key, due to the amount of baking I do. Thank you so much for watching, Debi! ♥

Sometimes you’ll see these guys around Bangor. I remember once I spent some time in the hospital and there was an Amish family there. All dressed in the traditional garb, hats and beards. The only thing that stood out of place was the eldest daughter was using and seemed to know how to operate a laptop pretty well.
@JulieKeeperofMyHome2 жыл бұрын
It's interesting, isn't it? One of the families up here was caught running electricity to a greenhouse. The elders came and removed the electricity, and the family was warned. Do you know of any Amish farms for sale up that way? Can you tell me where the ticks are mostly located? Are they mostly in the northern part of the state? Or coastal?
@JulieKeeperofMyHome3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Ticks are mostly found in the coastal areas, but can occasionally be found in the northern part of the state, as well. Deer ticks are the most dangerous. They are what cause Lyme disease. I have been living in Northern Maine my whole life, in the country, and have never once encountered them. My sister in law and her husband live in Southern Maine, and said they are very common there. Are you planning a trip to Maine, or just curious? This is one of the most beautiful states to live in, especially during the fall season. Have a great day!
@Justaguy04203 жыл бұрын
@@JulieKeeperofMyHome Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes I’m seriously considering moving out there. Initially I was looking at Belfast and the mid coast areas. Property and taxes out there are insanely cheap. And the state is incredibly beautiful. I’m in Washington and the only thing that would make Maine more beautiful would be mountains like the cascade mountain range. So if I’m concerned about ticks then I should look more toward the middle or northern regions. North of Bangor? I’m moving to get away from the cities so I’m not interested in Portland or Augusta or anything like that.
@JulieKeeperofMyHome3 жыл бұрын
The western part of the state, along the New Hampshire border is beautiful, too. I am partial to the northern part of the state, but I've lived here my whole life. A lot of people think there is nothing north of Bangor, and as far as stores go, they are probably right. It is a very remote part of the state. Lots of woods and potato fields. My husband's father is a retired potato farmer. I will tell you though, it is an absolutely beautiful place to live up here, and folks are nice to each other. That's not something you always find in big cities. Good luck finding a place. I'm sure wherever you choose, you will love it. 😊

There is another store located in Easton. The owners just recently (June 1st) moved it to their home. Their daughters have all been married off, so they had no more help running the store. Our society saturated idolatry from the statue of liberty(ishtar/easter) to the washington monument(obelisk to the egyptian god ra and is also on most churches) The eye of horus on the dollar bill. The jefferson and lincoln memorials are copied after the pantheons of rome, greece and the pantheon of baal (all temples of false gods) Like it says in the book of Revelation all the kings of the earth have committed fornication with the whore babylon.
