I'm so glad that you're happy with your hair and found a stylist that works for you. Doing your hair shouldn't take all darn day. I never understood that. I always recommended that folks not get rid of their stash when following the bgc method. That was the recommendation from the original 2015 start up. The intent was to learn your hair within a 30 day period of detox. I don't know how that mess went off the rails with the "no oils, no butters" clickbait. I went back to using my stash some time ago. Some things did fall out because they didn't actually work well for my fine hair. My biggest take aways from the better half of bgc was proper washing with the correct shampoo, correct product selection/use and regular trims. I went back to some of my old ways with a different mindset/purpose. I love curls blueberry bliss leave in, but I need to use my stash.☹️

In the beginning I think I was so caught up on following all of the rules to a T, but I remember a few people telling me not to get rid of my stash and at the end of the day I should really do what works for my hair. I agree with your biggest takeaways. I think following them allowed more people to embrace their wash in gos!/have the courage to do WNGs Prior to this, I've only tried a WNG once and I probably wouldn't have done them again if I didnt find BGC.
