The Pattern steamer is sold a Ulta you may get a better deal if they send out coupons and if you have points.
@GabrielleIshell9 күн бұрын
Thanks! I don’t have that many points at Ulta. I ended up using the 10% off coupon for signing up for email and received 100 something points which equals $15 to use for a future purchase. Definitely going to check out Ulta to see their Black Friday deals

It's worth signing up for the ulta mailing list because they'll occasionally send a $10 off coupon as well. :) Wasn't briogeo originally black-owned? Yay for longer hair! Are you going to do any heat styling this winter season?
@GabrielleIshell9 күн бұрын
I am signed up for Ulta! I’ll look there for some deals! Thanks! I didn’t realize that Briogeo was originally black owned. Not sure about heat styles, I haven’t really used heat besides a blow dryer every once in a while and hooded dryer🤔

Me too on the straightening comment. I just had her blow dry no flat iron, and she trimmed it. I was wondering about what kind of curls I have, my hair dresser said she didn’t know yet. I’m trying to go a year before my chop that would be February 2025, but I think I’m going to do it in the spring of 2025. Thanks for the video.
@Bjk15322 ай бұрын
I’m 8months in, I got my last relaxer in February 2024, April I got just a shampoo and style. In May my hair dresser gave me an olaplex treatment. That made a big difference before that my hair was super super dry, looked brittle and no life to it. At this point I switched off from going to my hair salon and my braider. I would get simple feed in braids like 2french braids, then a rod set, then 4 french braids, then a braid bun. After this I got crochet braids for August. My hair was itching and I finally took them out and washed my hair. I wore my wigs for 2weeks. Recently, I got a my hair shampooed and blow dried. I didn’t want anymore heat on my hair so I just had her put it in a ponytail for me to go home. I took it out when I got home. I put some Camille Rose products and just wore a high ponytail with my hair. I’ll wear my hair out a few days and switch off and wear my wigs. At the end of September I’m getting a crochet hair style.

She didn’t sell out. Most of these beauty suppliers companies know black hair products are money makers. I agree to keep up and stay viable she had no choice. Some dont get it. I haven’t had any problems with her products. It had helped my hair grow.
@GabrielleIshell2 ай бұрын
Yes! I’m happy for her. I especially love that she still wants to be very involved. I hope this little speed bump doesn’t really mess up things for the brand.

One of the biggest problems as naturals is the over use of products, especially oils. Start with a very small amount, only a dime size, really. Gradually increase the amount if you don't get the results you want or if your hair is very lengthy or thick. The itching and burning is usually related to impurities logged in the hair follicle that cause infection, killing the follicle and thus causing hair loss. And also, when it comes to manufactured products you usually get what you pay for. Simple, pure ingredients like raw shea, black soap, acv, herbs, pure oils and water, are mild and safest when used properly because they are free of added chemicals.
@GabrielleIshell2 ай бұрын
I agree! Everyone can’t use the same products the same way. I think a lot of people may have just been following what they saw someone else do and not listening to their own hair. Thanks for the lesson about impurities/infection that ultimately causes the hair loss.

Hey nice video. I like Mielle, been using them for about 5 years with no issues. I really dislike this brand cancel culture on social media. It happens so often and I feel like folks just jump on the ban wagon. Will a small percent of folks have an adverse affect just because of being human, yes. But the majority will be just fine. We’ve seen this trend before, remember Diva Curl, then Shea moisture, recently innersense and now Mielle. I’m so over it.
@adoxgraphy1012 ай бұрын
@@TKDGal76 I think it’s important to remember that people were experiencing severe hair loss with these brands as well. We must remember that our individual experiences are just that individual and not use anecdotal experiences to dismiss others. Personally I had an adverse experience with this brand after being a loyal customer for three years prior. I quietly stopped using the products no posts, I just did what worked for me. But I think siding with big brands without truly listening to what people are saying is harmful. If we want these brands to succeed we need to be able to bring their attention to these issues. Frankly no product should harm you from its use without an allergy if it is formulated well that is not normal.
@GabrielleIshell2 ай бұрын
@TKGal76 Thank you. Yes, some people are very quick to cancel people. Every product isn’t for everyone🤷🏾♀️
@GabrielleIshell2 ай бұрын
@adoxgraphy101 I’m sorry that you experienced adverse effects, but glad you stop using it after noticing. I think that may be one of the problems- it sounds like other people kept using the products even after experiencing negative things. I agree that our personal experiences are just that, but the same goes for the people who had negative experiences. I don’t think it means the brand needs to be canceled, I think we just need to move away from the products that aren’t good for us.

the LYXBAGS would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal outfit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!

I think I bought some gel or custard of theirs like a decade ago, decided I didn't like how gritty it felt in my hair and never bothered to purchase again. Also, with the whole Linda Lynn situation, I've kind of steered clear of her brand. Plus there was this poor lady - Tamara's Hair Care - who experienced a tonne of damage from just one single washday with her products, so that's enough for me to not be interested in the brand at all. 🤔
