i would recommend doing it in the summer, in July because my surgeon said it takes a month to recover fully. I don't think you should do it during the school year because you obviously miss work and your grades go down. I understand you dont want to waste the summer but Im doing it around July/August so i dont miss the whole summer if i do the surgery in May/June.

I’m getting mine done next year in February but my mum is going to get work for me to do the my teacher. Also I’m in year 9 maybe 8th grade (I’m form Britain so) my mum is going to teach me as she is a teacher anyway so there are ways around it while still learning

This is all super helpful and comforting! I'm 16 and I have had two fusions. The first was a cage in my lower lumbar and the second was lumbar fusion. My third surgery on my thoracic curve is coming up soon, December 20th. My first surgery I was super nervous and now I'm kind of excited just to be done with my surgeries!! But sometimes I feel like nobody else can understand how mentally and physically hard the surgeries are so its nice to be able to relate to you!

This was really helpful bc I had the surgery November 16th and I'm going back to school after winter break on January 7th and I'm nervous about it! But I know it'll turn out okay:) I'm thinking about making my scoliosis story video too bc I watched yours and a couple others before my surgery and they are really really helpful and there needs to be more out there!

My curve is 53 degrees and I'm actually getting surgery next Monday. I can't play football anymore but I can still play basketball baseball and track! The next sport I'll be able to play because of my surgery is baseball. Will I be able to twist okay and like bat?? Your videos have been helping me very much!!! :)

Hey girl! I don't try to crack my back anymore because I get scared😂 but sometimes it cracks on its own and it feels fine :)

I don’t have Scoliosis but I have been off school for 8 months... I had a bone marrow transplant with chemotherapy and stuff. I need to have a certain level on my blood tests before I go back to school, but I am going into school for like the last day of school before the Christmas holidays so that I can do the fun stuff like watching the school pantomime. I live in the UK so I have tutors who come to my house. They said they won’t take me off of the list until I’m back in school full time so yeah :P

Hey! Your videos are really helpful!! I have a quesion🤔 what weren't you allowed to do the first weeks after surgery? I'm on the third week after surgery and I roll on bed, I stand and lie by myself, I get on my knees when I want to pick something from the floor but I don't know if it's okay me doing this. Doctors told me to continue with a normal life, just no sports and no carrying things, what do you think?

my brother just had his surgery 4 days ago,if its a very intense degree your spine can actuallly touch your lungs or any other organs and can hurt that organ,basically since you have asthma and the scoliosis is bad the spine can crush your lungs;but go to a good clinic like kaiser,if u live in cali,go to the one in anahiem 👍👌
