Just to make it a little more clear, I didn’t use a heavy back pack when I was recovering. But now that I am fully recovered, I carry my textbooks, binders, etc. in my backpack now and it doesn’t bother me.

I went back to school later than you did (around 6 weeks post op) and I stayed for 3 half days first before full days, but I relate to the gap between the chair and my back SO much. I got hometaight in my core subjects for over 2 months and it was great! Monday - Friday one of the teachers of my core subject classes would come for 2 hours (or however long I could sit up/was needed) Love your videos! Been watching since before my scoliosis and halo traction surgeries and now it's almost been a year since my scoliosis surgery

I'm getting this surgery in 6 months and was watching grays anatomy and I cried because just how hospital life would be for a lit than I research it and I feel much better about the surgery thanks

Another suggestion if you have a teacher who wants you to bring extra stuff- maybe ask your teacher if you could leave the designated stuff for their class in their room. When I was on crutches and had to carry my backpack, I had several teachers offer to do that, and it helped.

I had a spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis in my mid back. I had it done during summer break and a month later I had to go back to school. When I did I carried my heavy backpack, didn’t get out of class early, and still did PE and told that I would not have to do PE for 5 months and I was also playing volleyball again after 2-3 weeks but tried passing in the first week.

Hi from England 🇬🇧💋💋 I am a lady in my 40s having my lumbar scoliosis surgery in 7 weeks time today 😱🤕😟 I've seen some of your videos and admire your attitude and strength of character. You exude positivity and as I'm trying to do as much as possible to mitigate pain, discomfort etc I have been working my way through your videos. Thank you for sharing 💋 Can I ask what practical items or tips you can suggest for hospital and healing. For example I've got a grabber, a long handle wash brush and a toilet riser. Any suggestions please? Don't do IG. So if you can consider this question please. ❤️
