Catching Catfish close to the spawn in the Carolinas. Eel and Shad for bait. Lots of action on the Catawba river! From 5 feet to 50 feet deep and all points in between. Eel for bait done real good. Stays on the hook like shoe leather.

I presume your thinking about the 4 rod rule from the bank? Yes sometimes I even beach and put rod holders in the ground. I do keep that down to 4 rods though. But can I do that and then fish more rods out of the beached boat? Next time the Conservation officers check me I'm gonna ask. But my suspicion is it will be up to their discretion. At least until someone is cited for it, fights it, and the court decides.
