Going For a Saturday Night Chinese Carry Out at Ballyhackamore E Belfast

Here's me on Saturday 1st February 2025 heading for a Chinese carry-out along the busy Newtownards road, at Ballyhackamore east Belfast. The Good Fortune Chinese restaurant and carry out, must be one of the best places in east Belfast, if not the whole of Belfast for a Chinese meal. Planet Spice nearby and across the road must be amongst the top Indian carry outs in Belfast too! Ballyhackamore must be the best place in the whole of Belfast for eating out on a Saturday night. It was buzzing tonight ....as usual!

Great video Tom. I've eaten at many places in Ballyhackamore, and also had family live there so spent some time "running the streets". I think that Good Fortune has been there for years which is always a good sign, I must give it a go. There is another one I've been to many of times up near the fire station called Castle Hill it has been there too for years and does a good meal. Ballyhack is a great little spot, although a bottleneck for driving especially at the minute since the Sydenham Bypass is getting work done!!

Hello Tom , I am a big fan of Chinese food so many choices , i do like the Peking Duck you can buy on the street in S E Asia alway so good.

Good Fortune. Good man! There and The Orient are best Chinese food I've ever found. The Orient for Malay curry and Good Fortune for duck in plum sauce. Enjoy Tom!

Always top class MZ. We go for the Kunh Poo chicken with spring rolls and fried rice but BelfastLass is recommending the Duck in plum sauce and I rather like that idea! Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.

I've never really tried Chinese food to that degree but I well remember going into a Takeaway with a friend who fancied a Chinese and I asked the Chinese guy behind the counter, are those prawn Crackers? And he replied no they just like a good laugh, LOL.

Give Valley Hill a go.further up the road near SD Bells. Well priced - no restaurant prices for a takaway like some. Quality also better than Good Fortune. The Dundrum Squid Shack is much better - just a fancy chippy really Tom.
