I have strike (classic black handle) as my EDC for a while. I think the handle is great for big hands. Fits well. The lock switch is also great and safety. For me is a plus.

I have and carry every day the 74. I have a couple of Benchmade auto’s that I have carried in the past but since acquiring the 74 it has been my EDC for several years now. AUS8 is an OK steel and like you said,holds an edge fairly good and easy to get back to sharp.

The boker plus strike has become my all day everyday knife . And the limited tanto desert looks amazing. Had it for a couple of mounts and have used it from skinning a rabbit to cutting vegetables. Amazing knife. I actually like the safety on this knife it makes it harder for kids to open it and it must be just your knife because my knife switch works perfect, just the right amount of resistance.

I just got one. I took the scale off and tightened the safety up. It stopped the rattle and made it actually work. It was so loose it wasn't even working. The safety screw was really loose.

It’s hard to tell by your video but does the Strike fire slower than the 74? Weight wise the Strike is heavier but does it feel like a night and day difference when holding both of them? Still trying to decide between the two and what color combinations to get also. I’m thinking the black handle with stonewash might look nice but hard to tell by your video about the Desert Warrior configuration.

If you take the Strike apart you can either tighten the screw in the back of the safety or remove it because it is just a small phillips head screw that connects the safety to the handle.

Out of the box, the safety rattles and moves too easily, but the fix is to remove the aluminum handle and very slightly pry up the cutout on the liner that provides spring tension on the safety switch. Add a tiny dot of grease on the bearing surface and it will be perfect.

Just found one of those hogs in a creek. It was jammed with dirt and mud. Cleaned it out and used some WD40 and wham ! Fires open. Only problem is it’s a tanto.

Rick D my friend owns a Kershaw launch in 154cm, it's a great snappy knife but I wasn't too impressed considering he paid around $150 for it. Holds a great edge though.

My boker strike failed on me. The flat side of the pivot pin broke through the aluminum handle. I was coming down a latter and it came out of my pocket and hit a paving stone. I was five latter rungs from the ground when it happend.

Hey, late comment but I wonder if vertical and horizontal play are usual on auto knives such as Böker Strike ? I bought one several months ago and since I use it I noticed little play whether it's horizontal or vertical. I tried to tighten the pivot, the horizontal play disappeared but the knife doesn't snap at all. I tried to find a point where it snaps, even with less strength, but there is no play and I couldn't find it. Using the knife for food prep or light use doesn't make me feel worried but I tend to avoid hard use because I don't feel confident. Thanks for this comparison!

I was sent a Strike Mini and it came with a broken or I should say defective push button :( it’s missing the spring and the knife was suppose to be coated black which I can care less about that but this knife was a gift for my nephew and he wanted the black one

Just got a strike D2 and have some comments. First I had some pretty low expectations at the price point I was not very excited but wow I was wrong!! The packaging was really above the price point,but I never use the packaging for anything once the knife is out of the box, anyhow…nice. The drop point is a good shape, the coyote color with the black is better than I had hoped, sometimes the browns can look like crap, not here. The lock up is tight, the safety, no play, the action is perfect. My only gripe which is more on me so far, is the sharpness of the D2. I reprofile all of my knives, my collection is all under $150 knives, many with D2 steel, and my sharpening has always gotten me to hair popping phonebook paper slicing. This strike however is proving to be a challenge to hit my standard edge, don’t know why?? Even still I have it sharper than out of the box and will keep at it over time, I’ll get it to my specs. All said, I am very impressed by the strike D2 and am looking at which Boker plus is next!!!!

I like the strike in cpm s30v for 50 bucks on blade ops. I hate the k's ugly clip. Strike doesnt have that. Remember , its 50 bucks and od green. Great design .

I have and love the 74, but have passed on the Strike. I like everything about the Strike except for the firing button and safety. I refuse to buy any auto folder with a safety. If the Strike is ever redesigned with a recessed firing button and no safety then I will quickly purchase. Until then, the 74 will have to be the ckear winner from Boker Plus.

I have a question, I saw this guy on a video try like pulling out a nail or something (totally inappropriate use obviously) with the Boker Strike and what happened was that it kinda separated the knife handle a little in the pivot area so the pivot got screwed to a side. Do you think that would happen to the Kalashnikov too under the same circumstances (like doing a little bit of side to side prying stuff for instance)?

I've recently said no to any folder that does not have a proper full lockup like the Cold Steel Trilock. Liner locks are the worst. Imagine that blade closing on your finger in a fight or fall. Bye, bye finger. And now a drawer half full of folders I no longer carry
