@@ZReviews Hate stuff sticking that far out of USB ports one bad move and port is shot. Dongle + cable is better design. And thick cables going out of that are heavy ect so ez to mess it up. Still good video

I'm doing a similar setup but instead of a 400€ DAC with a fixed cable I'm using a Moondrop dawn with a 4.4 to XLR adapter for 1/5 of the price

Ever heard of Halide...they made the Devilsound NOS DAC and DAC HD. This looks very similar to Woo Phantom DAC. Very cool.

Second that. I just got a WA7 and even with the volume cranked to max it doesn’t get loud enough. A preamp would be sweet, but my source is my phone so not sure how that would work without something like the Phantom or a Moondrop and now I’m up to a price point where I wonder why I got the WA7 in the first place.

for this I'd probably use a USB extension rather than have it go straight into the device kuz that boyo there is gonna destroy USB ports when it inevitably gets yanked on or the cables get pulled.

This has always been possible with the Dragonfly Red, just turn the volume up full which actually switches off the amp allowing you to just use the dac. You can then 3.5mm out into anything you want & it's cheaper...

Seems pretty long with thick attached cables before they kink. IMHO a pretty long leverage that could put a strain on a USB port. I really don’t get the appeal of using it with a laptop with USB ports on the side. Perhaps if the connector is angled.

Couldn’t you use a usb extension cable to get more length as opposed to spending $100 per meter of analog cable. There would only be digital on the USB extension anyway.

Interesting product, but I am personally not a fan of buying things that have too short of a measurable usable lifespan. Cables all eventually wear out, because they move - and wire fatigue is a thing. If there is no easy way to unplug a cable that went bad, and plug in a new cable, then it's a nope for me. That's my personal take on this one. The cable should always be detachable from the primary unit imo.

My only worry about Rebel Amp (and Flux Labs) is, aren't they in Ukraine? With the war isn't it risky to send your money into a war zone, and expect to get something back? And what about warranty support? Or if it gets damaged in shipping. I'm not trying to say that they aren't honest but lets face it.... theres a war on and......shit happens. On another note, I didn't think class A amps used op amps. Aren't they discrete?
