Giving the new chapter room to breathe is a good idea! Not just from an on-the-page editing perspective but also to like, give your own internal perception of the book as a whole time to grow accustomed to the new segment. I know when I make a big change in a story it takes me a little time for it to become a natural part that I don't have to actively remind myself that it's there now XD An end-of-March deadline success would be awesome, but don't stress yourself too much if it ends up being more like end-of-April. It would suck to burn out!

Congrats on starting draft 4, the more I hear you talk about project soulmates, the more I'm excited to read it once it's published!!! I don't know if you've done a video on this already, but I'd love if you could talk about how you balance college and writing. I'm also a college student and struggle to fit in times to write and work on my novels during the semester so I end up pushing them to the breaks but that gives me limited time to work on them and my writing skills have slowly been becoming rusty. How do you keep a good school-writer balance?

I'm thinking about writing an publishing a book, I'm looking for a good publishing company, and I was wondering who you use or who are you planning to use to publish your book. Because this is my first time writing a book and I've wanted to do it for a long time, and I just wanted to make sure that I choose the best place.

if you make a second or third etc. draft are you supposed to rewrite the book and change the parts you need to change or do you make a copy of your first draft and edit the parts that you need to change?

you can do whatever works best for you! personally, since a first draft is such an early draft that will most likely need big picture changes (lots of scene cuts and additions) i like to do a complete rewrite from a blank page for draft 2 but i’ll have my first draft open so i can keep the parts that i want to keep (though i’ll still rewrite them to sound nicer)
