thank you!! thoughts like those can be so discouraging sometimes so i’m doing my best to not let them fester and to instead just accept that sometimes what i write will absolutely be 💩 but that doesn’t make me a bad writer, just a writer who sometimes writes bad things! and on top of that what i put out on paper can always be improved!

hi! so from a very nervous writer, i'm working on my draft one. i started it randomly yesterday and i'm already on chapter 8, page 44, with 9,878 words. everytime i look at someone else's document, they have over 20,000 words and their only on chapter 9 or 10. should i be adding more detail, or should i just relax and review this when i'm on draft two? thank you, from a reeling and aspiring author

i feel the same way!! you could try joining facebook beta reading groups or the ones on goodreads! you could also find some on twitter by posting a tweet with a blurb of your story and asking if anyone would be interested in reading it🤍 good luck!

a beta reader is someone who will read and critique your book before you decide it's ready to be published. they will tell you if you have any plot holes, if your characters seem believable, if they find anything doesn't make sense in your book, so you can fix it and make your story as best as it can be! :)
