I'm excited to see that when I travel to Brisbane next! Hopefully things improve so I can still travel.

These actually have the strongest version of Volvo's 7.7-litre D8K engine rated at 350hp and 1400Nm. Also, to further improve driveability, a shorter final drive ratio is used on these, combined with a "power" gearbox program.

Interesting! The Australian Bus and Coach deliveries guide listed them as 320hp. I thought they may have a bit more oomph than that.

Great review! Always wanted a good and unbiased review on these buses!

Cheers! Glad you enjoyed- I'm always a fan of the good old Bendy Buses, shame there's none in route service in Newcastle.

@@larrydelacruz4647 it depends on each vehicle's internal layout. Seating capacity doesn't tell the full story and fast boarding and standing room matters more on busy services. A good example is Skybus in Melbourne. Most of their Bustech CDI'S only have 63 seats, and limited standing space.

Another great review, hopefully these buses will get added to Virginia or Toowong’s depots so they can service routes during peak sucks as the 345, p343 and the 340, the 345 BUZ service really needs the extra capacity on peak. Too bad they don’t run tags or bendy buses on them

Sometimes think maybe its of area constraint, because the question is could they fit these buses on those roads and areas?

Its an interesting one, Articulated Buses used to operate much more on the northside in the 80s and early 90s, so I'm not too sure on why that all changed.

Unfortunately, Virginia won't ever see HCV buses (Tag/Bendy) as the Depot itself is too tight and cannot accommodate such vehicles. Toowong depot is more than open enough for HCV, but a majority of T routes are far too restrictive for even a regular bus to go around at the best of times.

@@driverm4544 good to know about V’s depot. I reckon having tags at least would be useful on the 345/p343 service in the morning and afternoon peaks. During school runs and what not, the normal buses reach capacity and aren’t always able to talk passengers in this case. If only the counsel could make up its mind about the width of appleby road, it goes from 2-1-2-1-2-1-2-3-4-3-2 which makes the traffic a nightmare

The Volvo's are definitely more powerful, the man is more slow on take off and up hills in my opinion.

Does anyone know if these things will do 100 kilometres an hour,
