water on the ice is usually nothing to be afraid of, if it has been a cold winter and the lakes have frozen a long time ago a little water on the ice wont make you go through, i have been riding on lakes with like 30cm of water on the ice and i have never even been close to go through the ice. most likely it was thick ice under the water. :) but great video man! hope you enjoy to ride and keep on making great videos! :D

I love the videos and think it’s awesome you’re getting into the sport. Could you possibly tip the camera up a little? That way we can ahead of you too.

That is called "over" a lake. The layer of snow insulates and creates a small layer of water on top. If there wasn't any snow on top it would be solid. The bank might be thin, but not most other spots. This happens at 10k+ where I live in the middle of winter. Scary the first time you see it though.

Don't ever stand right behind a track like you do at the beginning. One little slip and you're going for a ride. I have seen a guy missing his leg below the knee because a track shot out the back and mangled his leg. Always pull skis. Never need to be in the back. And if your buddy won't let off the gas after a ski pull don't pull for him anymore, let him dig rather than run you down.

Thats just alittle water on top of the ice caused by the snow melting a bit and insulating the water underneath. Speaking of water i did my 1st water crossing last saturday, my buddies thought the full wheelie was cuz i had done it before, no no guys...it was because i was scared shitless and the creek was 40ft wide and 15ft deep, lol. So just to be safe I fuckin PINNED it. I mean if 6 dudes said it looked cool as shit it must have looked cool as shit, i was more concerned about losing my sled and getting soaked when it was -15f outside.

Where were the shovels? Anytime you're out you need shovels

It’s slush… it’s not going to break through… slush doesn’t mean the ice isn’t safe…

First of all, stop pretending, water is "scary" to the only actual "all terrain" vehicle, man has made. Anything over 1.75 lugs, will "ford" anything!
